Normal thing, the BF2042 servers are very picky. I was facing the same issue for months and the only solution was VPN. After I had switched on VPN and the funniest thing here - VPN IP was random, even it could've been an IP of the location I was in without using VPN, then BF game worked fine I was let in the match.
