Hey there,
I’m no stranger to 2042 and it’s bugs but; I genuinely enjoy the game which is why I pre-ordered it.
It used to run with zero issues prior to Season 1. I came back on the game when Season 1 launched and I kept getting dashboarded within minutes of playing. Didn’t care to fix it at the time.
It’s now Season 3 and the same issue is still very real. Constantly freezing and sending me to dashboard or just completely turning off my console.
*This is the only title I’ve experienced these issues with.*
Steps I’ve taken:
- Power mode changed.
- Plug directly into wall without surge protector.
- Cleared game cache.
- Un-installed/re-installed game.
- Removed account and factory reset my series X.
- Unplugged Astro A50’s from console.
- Power cycled.
- Network is directly connected.
- Console is well ventilated & cool.
My friends play fine on PC. No crashes or anything. I don’t have anybody on xbox to bounce this off of but; I see plenty of people playing and looking for groups on xbox.
I can’t be the only one with this issue. I’ve gone through other threads on here that @EA_Atic has been working with and still I cannot find a work around.
I love this game and would really love the chance to play it with more friends now that it’s on game pass for them to try out.
Any help is appreciated.
I have the same exact problem. My game crashes, pretty much every single match for no apparent reason even if nothing crazy is happening like a lot of players in an area or explosions and so on. I experienced this with no other games, such as call of duty modern warfare two, cyberpunk 2077 ex…, which are games that you would expect to crash often but no Just battlefield 2042. I also pre-ordered the game and started experiencing the crashes a little bit before the first season came out. I have also tried every single troubleshooting problem fix that you can do on the Xbox series X and none of them have worked. I’ve also found no one who has had this problem until now hopefully they fix it because I wasted $70 on a game I can’t even play and I really want to play it.
Did you ever find out anything more on this? It’s been a few days. I keep reaching out (I’m sure there’s a bunch of people who are doing the same as us) I just wanna play!
DICE TeamSame problem. Tried all the same solutions, and am not running any insider builds. The issue isn't the sonsole, there's bad code somewhere in the game that's triggering the crashes.
If it were the consoles it would happen with every game.
@gnauty i don’t doubt it’s coding because I played the game early release and for months following up until a few weeks past that content pack for Mackay was released.
When season 01 dropped - I signed back on to play the new map and couldn’t even make it through a match without crashing.
Flash forward two more seasons - still the same issue. Idk what is going on anymore. I’m hoping @EA_Atic has the answers!
My self and a friend of mine have this issue as well.
I’ve been having those crashes since the game launched.
My friend though, he started having them exactly like you.
Only game crashing like this. No problem with any other game.
I agree when OP said it must be something coming from the game and not the XSX.
Sometimes the game starts rubberbanding 2 or 3 times and when that happens I know the game is going to crash. Other time it just goes back to dashboard as mentioned before without anything that could tell you « hey I’m about to crash sorry »
Hope this will get patched one day.
I wouldn’t waste your time reaching out to EA Atic, he’s provided zero relevant information for an issue that has persisted over a year.
Each update I login hoping they’ve finally resolved the issue, and lo’ and behold about 1 1/2 matches in, the game either crashes to the Dashboard or hard shuts off.
it’s actually doing it A LOT more frequently this patch, so seems to be getting worse, not better.
