Nah- I’m on an old school AMD R7 1700X with an AsRock Taichi X370 board. 16GB 3200Mhz CL14 RAM with the voltage upped to 1.37 for stability. CPU is on standard AMD Boost Clock settings. Hardware-wise everything is solid afaik.
Thanks!

So, ur problem solved by using VPN or it was a coincidence, a single case?
Also, what is ur original location?

To clarify- the crashing issue was possibly separate to not being able to connect, but really can’t be ruled out because it was at the point where the game attempts to connect to servers prior to loading the menu screen. The connection issues are ongoing for me, and are solved by connecting my VPN to anywhere but East Coast US. I’m in VA. As EA is the only service I have connection issues with, I’ve deduced that it’s likely some hop near the AWS servers used in this region. When running a traceroute, the third-from-last hop always has an astronomical value or drops altogether when not on VPN out of immediate region.
