BF2042 Crashes/Freezes my whole pc.

I can play for up to 30 minutes at a time, before battlefield crashes my whole pc. Sometimes it will just shut off like the plug is being pulled, but most of the time it just freezes, so that I have to reboot my computer. I have updated my drivers, validated game files, unplugged unnecessary peripherals, checked my temps, etc. I don't think its actually anything wrong with my system, as this doesn't happen in any other game. Basically I am out $60 for an unplayable game (Im not eligible for refund). Hopefully this gets fixed, there have been quite a few other people having the same problem as me. I am running a Gtx 1060, Ryzen 7 2700x, and 16gb of ram. My system is basically at recommended spec, and im not having any performance problems with the game, just the fact that it crashes my entire pc.
