Just wanted to add, that i have the same problem.
For what i have tried was the following:
So freshly installed EA app and Battlefield 2042. When i can click several times on launcher for the game, where it starts up the Anticheat and then goes back to the launcher.
After several tries, Something happens, i big pop up command like box just in black appears, and then my system i kinda stalling - meaning that if i want to open something, like task manager or a new TAB in chrome. Nothing happens. Only apps i already have opened on my computer, i can intereact with. Everything else is stalled until that black windows has closed, because when it has closed, THEN battlefield 2042 starts up (lol) and for that record, it takes 2-3 minutes of waiting with that black box.
That is the only solution i have, just try to launch the game again and again, until that black box appears, and then wait several minutes.
I have tried the Certificate trick
Administrator on/off for launcher/exe/Anticheat
Reinstall and Repair
Game Mode disable/enable
Disable Network, launch game - Just goes back to launcher
Allowed the game access with firewall
Also with Anti virus etc - the game is cleared
Nothing in Windows Registry that gives any hint of, what has happened.
I play trough Xbox Gamepass PC - with EA app installed of course, and launching the game directly from the folder, from EA or from Xbox, no effect.
And altso, running newest GPU drivers for my RTX 4080, with 5800X AMD CPU, Windows 11, 32GB RAM.. so plenty of resources also.
The game Rust is using the same Anti cheat engine, and that games works fine. So i kinda ruled out, that my system should be block that Anti cheat engine
And lastly, i can launch the game, after several tries as described above.
I hope my observations can lead someone to another solution, not posted before.
Maybe try to uninstall EAC from "The game Rust is using the same Anti cheat engine: and only install EAC from bf2042 (as an administrator).

Well the AntiCheat has it's own local folder i every game it's present. But when you run the Setup for the Anti cheat, it recognizes that it has been installed to several Games. I have uploaded the picture, so you get my point 🙂 I does however just says Game XX and not directly what game it is, just a number... don't know why 🙂.. but i can try to see what i can do with it.

Well the first time i tried to launch the game, after a freshly booted up computer, with Anti-Cheat reinstalled, it didn't go back to launcher. I did however get the black box thingy that stalls my systems kinda in 2 minutes time, before the games boots up (and another fun thing, the game now says, it needs admin permissions to run - and i already has that - that is a new one)
So i rebooted (because i have read that after others have tried after a reboot, and then it fails to work again) and yeah same here, now i can try to launch the game multiple times, before it will start up.
So conclusion - it did not work :-/- 3 years ago
Well another update.
So i reinstalled my Computer, Win11 pro.
First i tried of course, Bfield, right after all is installed (Drivers, update etc) Still the same, launching the game with easy anti cheat, and then back to launcher. Several tries and then the black box, and waiting several minutes, and then working.
I tried Rust. My Rust is was also broken (before and after install), when joining servers, when it comes to loading the step "Opening scene" it hangs for several minutes. Like when Bfield is launching, and i have this black box for several minutes, where everything is stalled on my system. (Rust is on Steam Platform)
Then i tried to find others games in my library with easy anti cheat. Hell Let Loose, the game start ups fairly quickly, but after is has showned the "presented by Vivox Audio) then black screen for several minutes, and then i am in the Menu of the game (Steam Platform)
Then i tried Vermintide 2 (Steam) and..that actually works like intented. No problems at all.
So EAC works perfectly with Vermintide 2, but the other games i mentioned i have problems with. And also, different platforms (EA, Steam)
Also tried with some none EAC games like Warhammer 3, V Rising (Steam Platform) And from Xbox PC, Warhammer Darktide. No problems at all.
So i don't know what to try anymore atm.
The last thing i could try, is to remove everything with EA and Bfield, and the EAC that comes with it. What i know of, my problems began after i installed it. My Rust worked fine last weekend fx. It was with the problems of Battlefield, that made me troubleshoot, and then i saw the other problems with games with EAC. But again, all began after i have installed 2042.
