The EA app updated two times and the game 1 time. The problem seems to be solved.
I have uninstalled the latest Windows 11 security patch, I went back to a previous Adrenaline drivers but the problem still persists. So my understanding is that it is due to the latest BF patch because I have gone back to known good state.
Btw, this freezing (and unfreezing) happens also on the map menu.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have 3 HDs in my system:
1- Main NVME SSD (BF2042 is here)
2- SSD for other games
3- Hard Disk for storage
Other than that, I have my gfx card AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT. And basically, this is it. The rest is on my motherboard (sound, ethernet etc). This system is working very well and stable for 3 years. And I've been playing this game since its launch, and this is the first time I have this kind of problem.
