BF2042 instantly crashes whit high settings when deploying into a match. this started happening after upgrading to an RTX 4080.
If i play on medium the game works sometimes. but has happened even whit medium settings that the entire pc freezes
i hope the devs can look into this.

Set terrain detail to a HIGH as max (seems to be a bug with the 40xx series gpu)
Als youre FOV setting could be an issue, use a FOV of max 70 or lower.
Ill check youre dxdiag also, test game with tips above !

whit terrain detail sett to ultra and everything else sett to medium max FOV, the pc instantly froze. then i tested whit terrain detail sett to high and everything else sett to medium max FOV. and it did not crash. then i tested whit POV sett to 60 whit terrain detail sett to ultra and it did to crash.

Could you please let me know if you have hardware accelerated GPU scheduling (HAGS) enabled in Windows settings?
On Windows 11 you can find this setting located under System > Display > Graphics
On Windows 10 you can find it by going to System > Display > Graphics settings > Under Default click on Change default graphics settings
I only see this in my windows. (Dutch version)

So should we be turning this off, or turning it on? I get the same crash with GPU DEVICE HUNG error whether it's off or on.
