BF2042 wont launch after EAC Splash. No error!
Problem:
Bought the Game like almost a month ago via Steam and since then i’ve been unable to launch the Game ever!
Procedure:
1. Start Application Throug steam, Origin, EA or bf2042.exe. Doesnt matter, behavior is Same.
2. Origin launches. Then the EAC Splashscreen appears. In taskmgr I see now EAC with the child processes BF2042 and COM Surrogate.
3. EAC loading bar goes 100%. Now theres bf2042 as background process in taskmgr.
4. Nothing Happens.
System:
OS: Win 10 pro x64
MB: MSI x570 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
GPU: GIGABYTE GeForce 4080 GamingOC
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB, DDR4–3600
SSD1: M2 NVMe SAMSUNG Evo 970 1tb
SSD2: M2 SATA Adata SX8100NP 1tb
SSD3: SATA San Disk Ultra 3D 2tb

only WinDefender as AntiMalware App
Troubleshooting as for now:
-Windows Updates
-Geforce Update
-all other Drivers Up to Date
-redistutables installed
-Integrity Check via steam
-EA App as Admin
-Steam as Admin
-Cleared Cache Steam /ea
-Deleted bf2042 Folder in Users\documents
-sfc scannow
-dism check- Scan- restore-Health
-removed Steam Client, ea App
-deleted all remaining Files regarding ea and steam Client.
-removed bf
installed Origin on c:\
installed steam Client on c:\
downloaded bf again on c:\ same behavior
-changed folder Permission for appdata, programmdata to everyone (Full).
-disabled XMP and PBOD
-disabled hyper-V
-disconect the hdd
-deinstalled Xbox App
-unlinked ea acc and Xbox acc
-removed eac folders and reinstall eac
-checked every log file i can find -> Nothing
-cleanboot
-removed gpu driver with ddu
-innstalled gpu driver without geforce experience
-disabled Gaming mode
-changed from lan to wifi adapter
-added Firewall permissions
-addeded Another Admin User and tried to Play
-disabled uac
-Upgrade to win11 pro
-changed resolution to 1440
-tried to use hdmi
-tried to use Another Monitor
Something i noticed :
if theres no bf2042 folder in userdocs the Game wont create one etc.
But if i put the bf 5 Profile.dat in the bf2042\settings dir, the timestamp changes every Time i try to Start bf.
so yeah mby ea is capable to get this Running bc i cant even return it on steam. I have 7h Playtime now without really playing even one single Second.

Btw from More than a hundred Apps this is the one and only Application wich is not working. I had and have No Problem with any other Bf or other EAC Games.

Believe it or not -> It works!!
I‘m not sure it was the clean Win11 install as i had no other problems.
I also did something different with the EA App. And now i think i know what u ment by „dont install ea or Origin “.
So After i installed every neccesary drivers, steam and Battlefield i FirstTime-launched BF through steam as i did before but this time i didnt get the error „EA App is neccesary to Launch BF“ instead steam installed ea App and i didnt had to logon.
After that anticheat asked for permission-> Granted, splash occured, bar went 100% and the Game just freaking started…can‘t believe it after that much time i‘ve spend.
On the other Hand it doesnt make that much sense to Not be allowed to install EA/Origin before the Firstlaunch of Battlefield. Also if delete every Trace of EA and EAC before the clean install, steam gave an error and told me to install EA-App as i clicked the play Button.
So my second guess is that there was some Folder / User Permission conflict as my System was 2 Years old and i had many different Enterprise Programms (wich Are Not thought to run on Personalcomputers) like PLC‘s and PDM Programs and also Developer Functions active as i use my PC Not just for gaming but also for schooling.
