Can’t find friends on EA for cross play on BF 2042

This is such trash… I’ve seen forum after forum of the same exact issue with no resolve.

At first, I tried adding my friend via his EA ID via my Xbox and that didn’t work. He then tried adding me via his PlayStation with the same method - didn’t work. Then we tried doing the same via our email addresses and that didn’t work.

Then we signed into Origin - double checked our privacy settings - cleared our caches - searched for each other’s IDs then email accounts - and nothing it didn’t work. He then downloaded the Origin app for Mac and was able to add me via my email - BUT then I couldn’t accept his invite.

So then I had to download the Origin app - I accepted the request and then we couldn’t find each other in game.

I restarted my game and console - unlinked my EA account and then restarted the game - and nothing worked.

what a bunch of trash - no wonder no one plays Battefield… get it together EA; you’re going to continue to lose money for basic functionality issues you somehow can’t get resolved after over a year.

    hi I wanna play with my friend I’m on ps5 and he’s on Xbox series s is there a way for us to play cross platform. We both have standard version of the game

    @marko_is_trash17 Yes, if you're both playing the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X version of the game, you should be able to play together.

    @ElliotLH I just realised my friend is probably on a Xbox one that may be the reason I’ll ask him tomorrow to find out what Xbox he has

    @marko_is_trash17 Yeah they could be on a One S, but hopefully they've got one of the newer consoles.

    If you bought your PS5 game digitally then I think you might be able to install the last gen version, and play with him that way. Could be worth checking out the store to see if you can download that for free.

    I was able to Cross Play one time with them PC to XBox.  Then it stopped showing me in their social and vice versa.  I am using PC Game Pass as well.  I have tried everything.  My NAT Settings via XBox Comp app says open. theirs on XBox is open.  I can find them in the social search and send a friend request but the invite is not visible in BF2042 Social tab for them.
