  • Hello frand!  Unfortunately (from EA/TotalFPS' point of view) a browser/persistent lobbies arent a "Heavily Discussed" request in the "community".  Unfortunately there isnt going to be a solution for your inability to find a game in your (up to but not certain) $100 purchase.

However! New map changes ARE coming... well... they are being discussed.  The actual map changes won't come until season 2.  Yes you have that correct, season 1 starts in... whenever... september 2022?  So those little map changes won't be there until 2023 at earliest.

At this point I'm not even sour about it, we should just leave the one intern left working on this game alone.  Lil dude probably getting enough hate, cryin @ their desk n all that.  Its just whatever at this juncture.

The game is so bad that also the AI Soldiers refuse to play it?

Thought otherwise that EA/DICE had enlisted an army of AI to keep the active player numbers pumped up for another few months, till they go on their much deserved summer vacation.

  • The sabotaging of 2042/Battlefield series feels intentional at this point.

They could fix so many issues with persistent lobbies and a server browser.  US East and US West could instantly play together instead of being region locked.  This would double the available players for North America.

I'm sure Europe and many other regions face similar problems.  It makes zero sense for them to keep this awful, inept matchmaking system.

There's only one reason they would not do a server browser, and it's the reason that rules every decision made by every company.  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

They simply don't want to pay for it.

  • Yeah some where in the 140 usd range spent on a game I have only played 1 match in..

Please add your support to these threads :

DICE can you please help all players who are currently unable to join games due to Matchmaking problems.

You need to prioritise this so players can get to play the game they paid for. !!

On this forum there are many threads where players are asking for a proper Server Browser / Persistent Server system to replace MM which is simply not up to the job for reasons spelt out on these threads  :

Endless Matchmaking - Waiting For Players (Asia) - Answer HQ (ea.com)

Add a server browser please, I want to do the weekly challenges !! - Answer HQ

DICE add a Server Browser / Persistent Servers to AOW - Answer HQ

What are the top 3 things you would change about BF2042 ? - Answer HQ

Concrete and simple to implement proposal that would improve BF2042 TODAY - Answer HQ

  • Reality is unfortunately and most probably that EA/DICE have already reassigned the vast majority of developers on the franchise to the next version instead to be released.  Recent talks have been on that next BF game is targeted for 2023 release.  So 'everything BF2042'  may already have been put down onto absolute lowest possible level of resources, just to keep it somewhat floating and fulfil whatever may remain of legal liabilities towards the customers that bought the full 1-year 4-seasons pack license...  (GOLD and ULTIMATE pre-orders...)

The funny thing is: they would not even have to pay for this. They could implement it the same way they did with all the other modes (e.g. Rush), meaning the servers would not be persistent but would be spawned on demand. But they would of course be persistent until the last player leaves. The same way the normal Portal servers are handled now.
And if the just set a flag for those servers to show up in the Portal server browser, then you could even use the EXISTING server browser for portal to find the AoW servers.

They CAN do it if they want. It would cost them basically nothing. The problem is: they don't WANT to.

And yes, I agree, the word that comes to mind is sabotage as their refusal to make the experience better for the existing player base (however small it might be) can by now only be considered as an intentional effort to make the game die completely as fast as possible.

It's hard to argue against that argument, every day that goes by it' gets harder and harder to have any hope.

DICE do the decent thing and either sort this or come clean and admit that it is not going to happen.

This continued SILENCE has gone on long enough.

I can’t agree more with your request.

I haven’t been able to join a match in months (PS4), even after the March update.

All my other games work just fine, including other Battlefield games.  I am more than insulted about replies pointing out at rebooting the router or the console.  The issue is obviously not at the users’ end but bottom line, customers shouldn’t jump through so many hoops to be able to use the product they purchased.

Moreover, when customers ask for a refund, they’re being told that they can’t if they played for more than two hours.  What if it takes more than two hours to figure all that is wrong?  What if players found out about the issues within the first two hours of gameplay but in good faith were optimistic that it would be fixed?  What if unsatisfied customers were patient enough to wait for a fix but further issues with the game along the way prevent them from playing it at all?

There are laws and regulations to protect customers against such business practices.  The way it’s been going so far, it’s only a matter of time before the table turns.  There are just too many evidences against EA. This is neither about dissatisfaction or overreaction, it’s simply a legal issue with regards to unfair business practices from a false, misleading or deceptive representation.

@Jeptal_FredJust wish to point out that I finally managed to make it work. I still couldn’t join a game after the latest update in May. Well as usual, I would but then be the only player waiting to start the game, forever.

I switched on “Cross-Play” and it works fine ever since.

I think I switched it off a week after game launch until then. It obviously wasn’t the cause of the issue in the beginning because I was still able to play for a while.
