I have Windows 11 updated with the most recent drivers as of today. As do I have my 5700XT on driver 21.11.2 (out today). My first 2-3 games ran perfectly fine but now, I can't play 2042 longer than 10-30 minutes without it completely crashing my GPU and resetting my PC. I know it sounds like a GPU issue, but this only happens with 2042.
I didn't have any issues with running 2042 during either the closed alpha or the beta as well.
I have Forza Horizon 5 and COD: Vanguard (both new titles) and both work completely fine, and I can play those easily for hours (longest session thus far is 11 hours.)
I have 2042 running at 1080p medium, borderless. Both Horizon 5 and Vanguard I can run at 4k high (with Vanguard using FSR).
I have an Asus B550-F Gaming
16gbs RAM @ 3600mhz
5800x w/ PBO [on]
5700XT - stock minus AIB OC (model is Taichi x OC+)
850W Seasonic Gold+ (more than enough)
I tried doing a complete wipe of all AMD drivers with their driver cleanup utility and rolling back to 21.10.2 (last most stable for me), and 2042 continues to crash.
I have tried setting my FLCK to auto instead of 1800, didn't work.
Every time 2042 crashes, Event Viewer reports:
"WHEA-Logger
A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 8"
The APIC ID has been reported so far as 8, 4, 3, and 12.
Neither my CPU or my GPU are overheating. My CPU maxes out at 65-70C and my GPU doesn't go higher than 82C(sits around 65-75C most of the game, unless it's very intense)
I would attempt to use Windows 10 next, but I'd rather not full wipe my entire PC for the one game hard crashing it. Attached is dxdiag.
Edit of 11/14- Tried 21.11.2 GPU driver; still crashed. Tried it with the FMax enhancer for PBO off in my bios; still crashed. Lastly tried it with both Fmax and PBO both off; still crashed. Windows, chipset, wifi etc all updated as far as they can be. I had the game running on low preset as well starting with my test with Fmax off.
