Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Launching the game
What happens when the bug occurs? Began with Battlefield 2042 going to full screen. This is after last week's update. The menu would start to play the outerspace footage on loop, music playing. But it never made it to the main menu. I factory reset my PC to start fresh and updated everything, and now this new thing occurs. Same thing with my husband's PC. You launch the game, easy anti cheat window appears, loads and then goes away. Mini window appears, all black, which normally proceeds to the intro. Does not pull into full screen as usual. No intro or starting image. Just black screen. "Battlefield 2042" appears in top left of the window for 1 second, then goes away. After 30 seconds, the window crashes. Task manager will randomly appear and then close out by itself. Sometimes a troubleshoot window asks if I want to try running it with compatibility with Windows 8. Does not work.
What should be happening instead? Game should be expanding to full screen and the outerspace/characters standing per normal start up of the game should be occuring.
Any error messages? No.
Copy/pasted this format from another thread where FIFA users are having difficulties. I'm having issues with Battlefield 2042 and so is my husband. We love playing and don't want to have to quit it due to this... :/ Please help! We have tried all the fixes we could find online and none work. Both of our PCs are identical and have the exact same issue.
- @Rokebo73 Thank you so much for your help. My husband figured it out (we have the exact same PC's and both factory reset at the same time.) NVIDIA GeForce Driver said it was fully updated, however that wasn't true. You had to go to the website and manually install the automatic driver, and after that manually check for the new driver update. It's been resolved and works now. @DJFox1981
