Community Manager@Psychedoolic, have you tried to play any other more recent games?
- @EA_Leeuw I just played Jedi Fallen order a few weeks ago. it played flawlessly with pretty high graphics settings.
I'm on 2nd windows reinstall attempt since yesterday. last night i tried installing BF pointing to the external drive folder. that went ok, but couldn't get it to launch. repairs and such didn't work. installed it fresh overnight, and couldn't get it to launch. seemed like an EA Desktop issue. Non-descript error, something like "We can't launch you game, check connection or try later"
So I've just reinstalled windows . made sure to get rid of all appdata folders and other folders in documents. will try restoring from backup again. I have slow metered connection, so installing this thing a few times in a wk takes 5+ hrs each time and will use up all my data caps.Ok, restoring went much cleaner this time. no idea why... only difference was installing everything on same partition as OS.
But the crash is identical... So that rules out pretty much anything OS/other app/service related... all i installed after installing windows was chrome and EA/BF.
did all memory tests and those are fine...
So the only things it could be are game, driver or hardware. Since so many other people are reporting the same problem with new and more modern GPUs, wouldn't that point to driver/game?
If I'm gonna go spend $3k to upgrade GPU and everything to support a new GPU... I wanna be 100% sure that's gonna do it.
