Hey @Master_Torsten Thanks for the update, If you have EA play through Game Pass, and own BF2042 on Steam those are different platforms that do not talk to each other.

The reason why is the BF2042 itself has cross-play, and cross-progress but the EA Play subscription is not cross-play, If you play on different platforms the subscription does not go with you. Due to this, you would not get EA Play rewards from Xbox to a game owned on Steam.

    Cheers!

Hey @Master_Torsten Thank you for the clarification, as is Steam games from EA are integrated with Origin and not EA Desktop, trying to launch a game installed from Game Pass/EA Desktop will not hand over a subscription to claim its rewards.

In your previous post, it seemed like you mentioned that if you managed to get Steam to launch the EA Desktop version through steam it would give the subscription rewards,

    "

But if you ask steam to use ea desktop instead of origin. Then the bug / error would resolve.

    "

If you managed to select the EAD installation to run as a non-steam game then it would only be playing the timed trail from Game Pass/EA Desktop. If you want more information on the future of BF2042, we have additional information in our help article here

Again to iterate, If you purchase BF2042 via Steam and wish to play there then you would not have access to an EA Play subscription you have through Game Pass/EA Desktop, as the subscription (and games) for EA Play are different per platform you play on (Origin, Steam, Xbox, Playstation, etc)

    Cheers!

Feels like you're fooling people in this way. Then you must have two ea paly. What about cross progress if you have to have different accounts? You must stop fooling people in this way!

    Hey @Master_Torsten

Cross-Progression would be a game-level feature, So it depends if a game supports it. This would be different than owning a game on one platform, then having access to it through a service on another platform to be able to play multiple places.

The subscription does not offer a feature to carry saves/progress over, so if you own it through one platform and have access to it through another and the game itself does not support cross-progression then saves/progress would not go with you.

For clarification, if you want info on what EA Play does offer, I would recommend checking out the link below for clarity on what to expect with the subscription.

    Thanks!
