So when I try to launch the game it gives me two errors.First I get the BF2042.exe error (0xc0000142).And after that it gives me "Easy Anti-Cheat - untrusted system file (vcruntime140.dll)File attached.Anyone can help me?Thanks!

I just fixed the problem for myself. I had to download and re-install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable". That fixed my problem. I did the repair on the easycheat and the game as well. Then it finally was resolved.

Try going to the game folder -> EasyAntiCheat -> Delete Certificate folder

I have exactly the same problem and it also started on Saturday, 9/2/23. Deleting the certificate folder allowed the game to start and got past the error, but as soon as I attempted to join a game, even solo matches it kicked me off for failed anti cheat.

Hey all,
As you can see from the title I am getting that error followed by Easy Anti-Cheat "untrusted System file" "\vcruntime140.dll" This file last modified sometime in 2022.
What I have tried:
Validate files through steam.
Update windows.
Repair/remove and reinstall Anti cheat.
Removed mod client Vortex (For starfield). It's probably not even an issue but rolling back to when I last played a few days ago.
Ran File system check.
Updated drivers.
Updated Microsft runtime stuff where I know how and what updates are needed.
I have 400 hours so odd to be playing up now.
I've seen a fix of reinstalling windows but if that's the case bye bye battlefield I'm not doing that to play 1 game casually.

@Gurky1998 @Gurky1998 In the installation folder of BF2042 is an INSTALLER folder.
In this Folder _Installer\vc\vc2015\redist are 2 files, open / run them as an ADMININISTRATOR (right click at it).
Now repair / install both files.

Update us after ya did this !

@Gurky1998 uninstall those apps, use SETTINGS / APPS in windows !
Or use revouninstaller <-- to delete all leftovers to !
Then reboot and reinstall those apps.
Then check for Windows Updates.
Reboot again and test game
