Failed to start the game (2)

Twitter and Reddit are full of threads complaining about this. I tried Reinstalling, verifying, updating drivers, rolling back drivers, nothing worked

I disabled webroot, but it still is not working

You have to uninstall webroot for it to work.

No it's not. I have 72 hours on record and have not had this issue before, now after the most recent BF update the game won't even start with absolutely no changes to Webroot. The issue lies in BF. With all the issues and things wrong with the game already you cannot possibly pass blame on something that clearly isn't the case.

Edit: Also; if you have to disable/uninstall an anti-virus in order to play a game when this wasn't the case even when the beta was out, then it's a clear indication the issue is on EA/DICE. And really, telling people to disable there antivirus just to play your game instead of looking into the issue itself? Major *facepalm*

It was working with webroot without issues before the recent update, now it just doesn't want to anymore. The only one that changed was BF 2042 with the update, so the issue is not with webroot as it works with other games without issues. The issue is with BF 2042. The game should be fixed for better compatibility.

@EA_Barryask EA hire to some good quality QA people (i.e. if you understand what QA means) rather than asking people to delete their AV which they paid for to play a game (which they regrettably paid for).
