[FIX RELEASED] EA anticheat Memory Over-Usage Since May '24 Anticheat Update

Hello,

i'll start by saying that this never happened before, and it only just now became a problem.

I'll also say that yes, i have an Anti-Virus installed, yes its kaspersky, and no it never gave me any problems with any game ever and the EA processes and files are even under the Exceptions so that they don't mistakenly get deleted or scanned.

When i open BF2042 the Anti-Cheat Task just starts building up memory usage, and never stops. It slowly goes up to 10GB easily if i let it run for a while and eventually crashes my game, Discord, Steam, and whatever other program that i have open. I tried verifying files, that didnt work. I tried repairing the AntiCheat itself, and that also didn't work.

I have an RTX4070Ti Super and that crashes aswell giving me the "cannot allocate memory" error even though 16GB for BF2042 has always been enough, and drivers are updated.

Mind you i have 32GB of RAM and that as well has never given me problems.

No weird heating up from hardware recorded (using OpenHardwareMonitor).

Verifying game files always needs to restore 3 unvalidated files for some reason.

I don't know where to start to look for fixes, haven't even found any online. I'd appreciate some help if someone can give any, thanks in advance.

    Hey everyone,

    Thanks to everyone for keeping the thread updated.

    I can confirm that the EA anticheat teams have released the fix mentioned earlier this morning for EU time, resolving the memory over-usage issue caused by EA anticheat.

    If you're still encountering the problem after restarting both the EA app for PC/Steam/Epic (wherever you own the game on PC) and Battlefield 2042 itself, please try repairing the game or verifying game files through your respective client to see if the issue persists.

    I'll be closing this thread soon as the problem has been resolved with this fix and confirmed by reports.

    If you're facing a similar or related issue or would like to initiate a new general discussion, please create a new topic or respond to a more recent thread.

    I have the same issue.
    Started Today, and I am playing EA FC 24,, not BF, so I assume they changed something.
    I have 32GB of ram, and it creeps up until it crashes my CPU.
    It builds to this point in like 5 minutes.

    I am having the same issue all of the sudden. Memory usage 99.9% and the culprit is EA AntiCheat.

    The game is not even running and it is maxing the ram.

    Estoy con el mismo problemas con El EA EasyAnticheat desde anoche, ni fifa 24, ni el battlefield 2042 puedo jugarlos se me come toda la ram y bloquea el PC

    I hope you can solve the problem because this is a very serious problem, as it can damage a component of the computer, and let's say that the thing is not to go screwing computer components.

    Same here unfortunately. I tried reinstalling/uninstalling/repairing anticheat with the instructions here https://help.ea.com/en/help/pc/ea-anticheat/

    The EA anticheat service seems to hang after the game is closed and continues to eat RAM until there's none left, 2042 stutters like crazy due to it.

    same problem here, only started from tonight, EA Anticheat process using upto 50% cpu and 16-20gb ram, then when I close 2042 the process stays consuming 16% cpu and ram usage climbing upwards until I close the process, went and checked the wifes pc and hers only uses 1.1% cpu and hardly an ram and the process closes when the game closes.

    @VD_Sierra yep, same issue here. Watched it gobble up 40gb in less than 10 minutes. As soon as the process is killed PC goes back to normal. Unable to play anymore as it happens every single time.
