FPS FIX FOR NVIDIA CARDS in BF2042 - 30-40% MORE FPS - YTB VIDEO (question)

Hey guys, so first of all I'm dumb I know, and in the rush of thinking I was gonna fix Fps issues in Bf I rushed the process.

Basically, I watched the short video, installed DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and uninstalled my latest driver without looking at any settings (they stayed at default) and restarted the pc. I then went onto a website called "Guru of 3D"  and installed the driver  496.13. So far all was good up to the point I proceeded to lauch BF2042 and saw the disastrous result my screen during loading and whenever I wanted to deployed was flickering and clustered by various colour flashes like my screen was broken or something (I also went from 60-70 fps to 30 max). I followed by doing all the previous steps backward until I went back to driver 496.49 which I dowloaded here : https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/geforce-496-49-whql-driver-download.html and tried BF again but now I also had the same issue as before. Furthermore, I've also tried different games, grounded, riftbreaker and Back4Blood and all seemed to work fine except perhaps slightly lower fps (couldn't really say as I haven't tried that long).

Lastly, I tried repairing the game (no effect) and installing BF again (no effect) and even checked driver updates just in case but to no success.

My graphic card is a RTX 2060 SUPER and before that I managed to play a full 12 hours of game until I tried this.

The issue is definitely from my driver change but I have no idea what precisely.

Thank you kindly to whoever helps me and I hope to see you on the battlefield.

  • @EA_Atic II have dropped to 60fps since some updates.
fps is high until game launches then drops to 60. Ive asked what others are getting during game and i'm told 120.
Have EA dropped th efps during game play or is it just me?

@SPOD111 Have you checked that the in game settings are the same?
I know several cases where the game for no reason have reset graphic or display settings without the user knowing. I know it sounds stupid but its easy to not check such obvious thing since you dont expect that to happen at all.

  • This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield 2042 please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
