Frame drops/freeze

Hello there!

I'm currently playing Battlefield 2042 on a 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor and have an average of 70 FPS.

Unfortunately it happens every few minutes (sometimes more often) that the frames drop to 1-3FPS and that for several seconds.

It's bearable but I also die frequently because of it, very frustrating.

I've already tried the common tips on the internet.

I have noticed that the CPU performance drops during frame drops..see screenshot.

My question is if it's just because of my old CPU/RAM or if I can fix it somehow otherwise, which would be super great of course.

Thanks a lot and best regards.

Here is my setup:

Windows 10 Home 64-bit

CPU:
Intel Xeon E3 1230 v3 @ 3.30GHz
RAM:
16.0GB dual-channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (1333MHz)
Mainboard:
Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. B85M-D3H
GPU:

4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

465GB Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB (SSD)

  • @Cennator  yes youre dd3 system need to do a lot fo work to run this game !
Make sure ya deleted content of bf2042/cache folder !
Set all display settings lower to low or medium.

Als make sure ya got the latest bios and system / windows drivers !
Make sure that ya use cleanboot to make sure most of all background programs do not run !

If youre system got a good airflow and enough fans and descent cool blocks , ya could oc youre memory -TO 1800/2100HZ  RANGE) and cpu CLOSE TO 4000MHZ OR MORE !

Need good cooling else ya could damage youre system permantly !

Also check google how to safely disable about 25 windows processes/services to get more resource for game.
BUT this will disable some services ya probarly need, first read before ya disabkle anything !

    Cheers
