Do you use any kind of overlays ( Rivatuner with MSI Afterburner, Geforce Experience, Discord, Origin etc)? If so, disable them.
Are you familiar with HWInfo monitoring app? Check, if GPU is boostin properly ( volts should be in the range of 0,850V - 1.06V ) and going to P0 state during BF2042. If the GPU isnt boosting, try this https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3130/~/setting-power-management-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance TIP: dont use the option in GLOBAL Profile, use the option under the game profile of BF2042 instead. The BF2042 profile can be found in the "Program setttings tab". Check the CPU and harddrives too. Or if you arent familar with HW troubeshoting, you can post a screenshot here, run the game, ALT-TAB out, start HWInfo, ALT-Tab into the game, wait a few minutes, take a screenshot.
The current Nvidia driver 511.23 is causing troubles on some installation, especially laptops with Max-Q capability. You can try to downgrade the driver to a previous one ( use DDU ). Always reboot your machine after a driver installation.
You can try to reset all your game settings by deleting all files and directories in C:\Users\YourUserName\Battlefield2042.
Did you try the game file validation? If no error was found during the game file validation, i would try to reinstall Origin ( and maybe even redownload/reinstall BF again).
Validate your Windows installation and update your Windows.https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-eu/000126064/how-do-i-run-the-system-file-checker-in-microsoft-windows?lwp=rt
