Frequent BSOD Crashes in Battlefield 2042 (eaanticheat.sys Error)

Hi,

I am experiencing frequent Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) crashes while playing Battlefield 2042, primarily during map loading and when returning to the lobby. The BSOD error is caused by eaanticheat.sys, with the specific stop code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x0000001e).

Previously, the game ran smoothly. This issue began after I upgraded my GPU from an RTX 4090 to an RTX 5090 and updated the graphics driver to the latest version (32.0.15.7700 - NVIDIA ForceWare 577.00). No other changes were made to my system or operating system.

After the crashes occurred, I attempted the following troubleshooting steps without success:

  1. Rolled back the GPU driver from ForceWare 577.00 to ForceWare 572.16 (the version previously used with my RTX 4090). The issue persisted.
  2. Verified game integrity, uninstalled/reinstalled EA AntiCheat, and performed a full reinstall of Battlefield 2042.
  3. Tested the RTX 5090 using benchmarking tools (3DMark, FurMark). No hardware faults were detected.
  4. Checked RAM stability with MemTest. All tests passed without errors.

System Configuration:

  1. OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (Version 10.0.22631.5624, Win11 23H2 2023 Update)
  2. CPU: Intel Core i9-13900KF @ 5.5 GHz (8C+16c)
  3. Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z790-P (Intel Z790 Chipset)
  4. Memory: 32 GB DDR5 SDRAM, DIMM2: Corsair CMK5X16G1E60C36A2 (16 GB, DDR5-4800), DIMM4: Corsair CMK5X16G1E60C36A2 (16 GB, DDR5-4800)
  5. GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (32 GB VRAM)
  6. GPU Driver: ForceWare 577.00 (32.0.15.7700)
  7. Storage: Predator SSD GM7 M.2 2TB (Game Installation Drive)
  8. BIOS: AMI (Version dated 06/25/2024)

Attached is the minidump file from the most recent BSOD for your analysis. Please address this matter at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your urgent attention to this problem.

  • The latest motherboard BIOS version appears to be dated 2025/05/21. The notes state "Update the Intel microcode to version 0x12F to further improve system conditions that may contribute to Vmin Shift instability in Intel 13th and 14th Gen desktop-powered systems."

This might fix the game crash issue.

I submitted the issue to EA Help official, but their proposed solution: Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation > Turn on Memory Integrity(Toggle off/on if already on), did not solve my problem :(

Im already resume that case, but it needs another 24 hours T.T

Yeah it fix the game crash, thank you very much.

Therefore, I learned that my CPU is in an extremely unstable state and this is the key issue that led to the crash😭(nearly working at 1.5v with 5.0ghz), so I may need to contact my CPU's after-sales service for further support 😭.

Thank you very much for your answer.
