Game audio cuts out after connecting to server

Summarize your bug Game starts with audio playing intro music as it is "connecting to server". Then, once it connects, audio cuts out completely. I've disabled voice chat, updated drivers, disabled spatial sound, went into mmsys.cpl to allow "application to take exclusive control of device", and disabled the hands-free option for the device.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Connect to PC with Sony Bluetooth wireless earbuds, then launch BF2042 from Steam. Audio will work fine during start up screens, but will cut out once connected to server and in main menu screen. Audio does not work thereafter, until exiting the game.
What happens when the bug occurs? No audio.
What should be happening instead? Game audio should play
