We are seeing positive signs that the reported scenarios of freezing for PC players have now been resolved.
As such, this issue is now classed as being closed.

Can't believe there's no official announcement about these crashes yet, players are just being left in the dark thinking the problem is on their end.

Summarize your bug Since PAtch 2.2 Game freezes shortly after Start of a round and can only be restart after "killing" the Game via TaskManager. Cant play the Game anymore. Already switched from Origin to the new App, already Tried repairing the Game. Btw had to fix EasyAnticheat after Repairing the Game because this installed an old version of AntiCheat that prevented the game from Launching at all.
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Dont Know? Try 2 Play the Game after installing the new patch?
What happens when the bug occurs? Game Freezes and Picture wont move anymore no error message at all, just frozen.
What should be happening instead? Playing the game!!!!!

I found a solution 4 my Crashing Problem: in the File "C:\Users\xxxxxx\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings\PROFSAVE_profile" i changed the line "GstRender.Dx12Enabled 0" to
"GstRender.Dx12Enabled 1" no more crashes since then

So Far this has worked for me. Played 5 rounds of 16v16 and no problems. 1080p at first then went back to 1440p, regular settings. No freezing or stuttering. So far
Update: Just had a black screen crash on Breakthrough. Didn't quite feel the same. No stuttering, missing sound, missing gun or vehicles. Just went black and ended it in task manager.
And now a crash with the setting for dx12 enabled to 1. Had a little run of trouble free matches but my luck ran out.
Sorry m8 that it didnt last longer 4 u :-( hope we get a fix soon.

Literally with every update they make, starting from season 1, everything got worse. Lags, crashes, freezes. We kept telling them for months, yet no improvements.
Guys I'll be repetitive but I solved it by uninstalling EA launcher and installing origin and the game, not even a crash since yesterday, try.
It's nice to try to help, but it would be smart to read BEFORE posting.
Read the messages here and you'll get why your solution isn't one.
It's really hard to read the same " not soo good ideas" again and again when it doesn't work. Dozens of pages to repeat the same errors? It doesn't help.
Every time i look here for a solution, it's around 4 or 5 more pages... Quite iritating to see again and again the same false directions because the poster didn't read the previous pages.
I know several people who have freezing and crashing with EA app but not in Origin. Myself included.
I have played for 5 days straight with no crash using Origin along with several people on my friends list. However if we try to play from EA app the crashing starts for all of us.
We can easily switch between the two so I know its not just placebo for us as crashing starts every time we launch the game with EA app.
I have done that several times just to check if things have changed with EA app. Going back to Origin always works ever since the issues started.
I am not saying this workaround will work for everyone (or even many) but its already proven that some people are able to play by switching to Origin, so there is no need to act with such attitude when someone is just trying to help posting things that worked for them.
If there is one thing I know for sure is that when stuff like this happens some workarounds will work for some but not for others.
Trying to deny people the opportunity to try workarounds that works for some, just because it didnt work for you, is just counter productive and borderline selfish.
And that is what you guys are doing when you are dismissing workarounds the way you do just because it didn't work for you.
Tell me, is there anything else from you (Dice/EA) or what is this about? Take a stand on the problem at least, give us info about the problem. We can't play the game since the update, withdraw the update, so we can play again and correct your update, do your job, we paid for it and have been stalled since day 1, promises were not kept etc.. And now we can't play the game at all, are you serious? Everyone is understandably pissed about it, how should this go on now? Your word is somehow no longer reliable, sayings like, We learn from our mistakes and the next Battlefield will be better, no one buys you anyway after the fiasco from the beginning. You have really tried hard to fix the game with map rebuild etc.. But now the game is patched broken and you just leave us sitting here without explanation of what happened or how it goes on now. You are really trying hard to scare away the last players who are still there and have held to you. I'm waiting since the update for a fix, nothing happens, I will now get me another game, possibly cod or so, too bad that you have destroyed the Battlefield brand so, really sad what happened to you. I (like 10000 others) will never again invest money in EA or Dice, my trust you have in this regard to the last exhausted, a pity for our money what we do not get back from you, that would be eigendlich the least after the whole story.

You seem to don't understand what i said.
I deny nothing, i"m saying to players to avoid to waste their time. They do whatever they want i give information.
You've been able to play for 5 days with Origin? Great.. I never moved to EA app... I have a friend on Origin who had his first feeze on sunday...
The bug is random ! Quite everybody at a moment, thought the work around he is trying works.. and suddently not. You probably could have the same result with doing nothing. I've read a post of a player who basically said the oposite from you about Origin / EA app.
I'm not dismissing things that didn't worked only for me. I guess you didn't read the whole subject and missed some mesages.
I stopped trying home made work around since Friday, and had the longest and best gaming session since the bug started on 18th...
And i can return your compliment by the way, pushing for players to change their computer when it" worked" for you but not for others who tried here (read previous pages) might seems over self estemed. Who is overacting against people who try to help?
For me at least the Origin and game exe change to windows 8 compatibility helped but not 100%.
Before the change I would freeze in the loading screen or seconds after I would load into the game. Now I can play 1 or 2 games and crash once, and on Sunday I've played 3 games in a row with no crash.
By doing nothing = use ea app and I already told you game starts crashing with ea app but not with origin. It got nothing to do with placebo or anything else. It just works like that for me and several others. It doenst make it a lie, wrong, false etc. It just mean that it works for us but not you.
I also said straight out that switching to origin isnt a fix for all or even many.
You need to stop thinking that every computer is the same or that you are the center of everything. Its like you are thinking that if it doesnt work for you then it doesnt for any one else either for some weird reason.
The evidence that going from ea app to origin works for some is already here in his very thread. Just like the same evidence that it doesnt work for others is in this very thread.
You are trying to deny people the opportunity to try workarounds in the way you are replying. You are straight out saying that people who have had luck with workarounds that dont work for you are lying and those workaround are not worth trying because its just placebo.
I will repeat one more time. When things like this happens one thing is for sure and that is that workarounds will work for some but not all.
How now? I think it's the update, what else could it be? I had changed nothing to my system, only the update was installed and since then constantly freezing. Sometimes the game runs a few hours and sometimes it crashes constantly.
