hey man, i have the same problem. yours was back in may, did it get solved? how did u solve it if yes?
I had the preparing download issue in March 2024. Clearing the cache and restarting the computer and the game didn't fix the issue.
However, as it has been the root cause of other EA issues, the next thing I checked was Microsoft One Drive and sure enough it had somehow re-enabled itself, probably via Windows Update. I've had enough drama with One Drive and back up externally so I removed it.
Everything works perfectly now.
