You can try removing all trusted devices from your EA account.

https://myaccount.ea.com/am/ui/security-privacy/trusted-devices

Then log out of your EA account in the EA app, then log back in.

Was 2042 purchased on Steam store or EA app store?

I removed all trusted devices and logged out of the EA app, but I'm still getting the same connection error.
