Wrongfully Banned in Battlefield 2042
So I had reinstalled 2042 on my pc after not playing it for a very long time on my Ps5 back around the beginning of August. Had it installed, played for maybe 6 hours at most, and not even a day later, had received an email stating that my account was banned on 2042 was involved of some form of cheating. The email stated: use software that interferes with or disrupts an EA Service or another user’s account, use undocumented features, exploits or cheats in-game that disrupts an EA Service or another user’s account, use software or cheats that disconnects other users from the EA servers. So naturally, I opened up a case, gave an explanation, and showed my files from a basic "open file location" view and showed that there was nothing out of the ordinary folder wise that was within the main game files of the application. Upon them reviewing it, or not even caring to look at it, they just said that the "sanction" was going to stay on my account without anyone ever giving me actual proof that my account was involved in some form of malicious use of software or "cheats". Its been weeks since I last replied to the case and there has been no answer from anyone asides from it updating to "Waiting on Studio". As it appears that I can upload multiple attachments to this thread, I can take screenshots of all files within the main folder for Battlefield 2042 to further show that there is nothing malicious that is installed to cause this ban to be warranted to my account.Unjustified account ban on BF2042
Hi everyone, I just logged onto BF2024 only to find out in complete disbelief EA has banned my account from launching the game. As a long time player since the old days of 1942, I never touched a single cheating or botting software in my life. In fact I’ve always been a staunch supporter of fair, transparent and honest competition and sportsmanship. I condemn cheaters to the bone. First I thought it was a mistake and tried relogging, of course with no avail. Naturally, I appealed their decision and emailed customer support immediately. I was baffled when EA responded to me first thing in the morning, as they normally take their sweet time doing so. When I read their email, it said they’ve actually conducted a thorough investigation of my case and that the ban would not be lifted. After reassessment of my account support section, the ticket made by me was closed by EA with no further option of reappealing. Asides from the completely absurd and unfair way to treat their valued customers and loyal fans of the Battlefield franchise, I was provided with zero information as to how I allegedly violated their terms of service, warranting a permanent suspension without further explanation nor prior notice. Frankly, I feel cheated out of a game I purchased four years ago at full price from a company that doesn’t even seem to have the decency to reach out to me and build a real case to find out what’s going on. All I get is a generic message, possibly system generated with an absolute und completely unfounded statement. I’m at a loss of what steps to take next, as obviously this cannot be their final answer. Please help.Losing Connection to EA servers
I've been having an issue where I get disconnected from matches after playing for 5-10 minutes (usually 8 minutes exactly). I've been having the issue for the past 2 years and it has occurred on every Battlefield game I own on my PC (BF4, BF1, BF5, BF2042, BF6). I've tried every solution I could find and haven't had any luck and I was wondering if anyone else is still having this issue or better yet if anyone has found a fix for it. I've tried everything I could find online or think of on my own, except wiping my PC and restarting with a fresh install of windows (I've seen posts where people have tried that and it still didn't work). I've also had three different ISP's and the issue has occurred with all of them. I'll attempt to provide an exhaustive list of everything I've tried, but if anyone has any recommendations or experience with this issue and wants to comment that'd be great. Things I've tried in no particular order: Reinstall network drivers (ethernet and WIFI) Reinstall Nvidia drivers and all Intel Drivers Port forwarding Clean install of Steam, EA, and game Allowing anti-cheat and game through firewall Disabling firewall and Virus Scanning Manually updating DNS address (DNS Cache is running) Updating adapter settings to not use Dualband Disabling IPv6 Running EA, anti-cheat, steam, and game as Administrator Disabling .NET 3.5 Disabling .NET 4.8 Upgrading to Windows 11 Downloading the game on different hard-drives Ensuring Secure Boot is on and working Clearing EA and Steam cache consistently Repairing Anti-Cheat and EA App with App Recovery Cleaning out old drivers/programs that are unused Tried Ethernet and WIFI with each ISP (tested disabling the driver for the one I wasn't using as well) Disabling Overlays Enabling Overlays Creating fresh EA and Steam accounts That's all I can think of right now but if I try new things or remember other things I've tried previously, I will update the thread.[INFO] BF2042 Patch 8.8 (May 27) – Secure Boot Requirement for Supported Systems
With Update 8.8.0 on Battlefield 2042, we will require that Secure Boot be enabled for PC hardware that can support it. This will provide you with a higher standard of trust and safety while you play select EA titles. As cheat developers keep evolving their tactics, we're stepping up our game, too. To keep Battlefield 2042 fair and fun for everyone, we're strengthening our defences, especially against cheats that try to sneak in during the Windows boot process. This move supports our Positive Play commitment and helps ensure a level playing field for all players. If you attempt to load the game following Update 8.8.0 without Secure Boot enabled, but are on a piece of hardware that supports it, you will be prompted with a message stating that Secure Boot is required. Secure Boot is a feature available for Windows 11 and Windows 10 devices, and you can learn more about how to enable this functionality via our EA Help article here. (‼️At Your Own Risk‼️) How to Reset Secure Boot if Battlefield 2042 Does Not Recognise It Before you proceed, consult your motherboard manual for precise steps. BIOS/UEFI menus vary by manufacturer. EA is not responsible for any damage or loss of data. ‼️This is at your own risk.‼️ Incorrect changes to BIOS/UEFI can render your system unbootable. Verify that Secure Boot, not just UEFI boot, is required. Ensure your system boots properly with CSM (Compatibility Support Module) disabled. ‼️Consult your motherboard manual‼️ for precise steps. BIOS/UEFI menus vary by manufacturer. EA is not responsible for any damage or loss of data. Steps to Reset Secure Boot Enter BIOS/UEFI Settings Restart your PC and press the designated key (usually DEL, F2, ESC) to enter BIOS/UEFI. Locate Secure Boot Settings Navigate to the Security or Boot tab. Assess the Current Secure Boot State If the Mode is User, you can usually enable Secure Boot directly. If the Mode is Setup, follow these steps: Disable Secure Boot (if it says Enabled). If it shows Standard, switch to Custom. Then switch back from Custom to Standard, and accept factory defaults. Enable Secure Boot. Optional: Reset Secure Boot Keys In some BIOS/UEFI versions, you can select Reset/Delete Secure Boot Keys under the Secure Boot settings. Save and Exit BIOS/UEFI Save your changes and restart your computer. Verify Secure Boot Status in Windows Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter. In System Information, check the Secure Boot State field. If it says On, Secure Boot is enabled and recognised by Windows. If it says Off, revisit the BIOS to adjust settings. If it says Unsupported, your hardware may not support Secure Boot. Restart and Launch Battlefield 2042 Launch the game to check if Secure Boot is now recognised. What did you expect to happen? The game starts via steam, load EA app with EA AC and then load the game to title screen. What actually happened instead? The game started via steam, loaded the EA app as well as the EA AC but not loading the game. instead the error happened: "This software cannot be used at the same time as the game. Please make sure it's not running, or restart your PC.: Interception" What device/system are you using? Windows 10 PC, launched the game via Steam. Other Information: Checked any app or drivers installed with the name "Interception". None Restarted the PC. No error on startup. Check integrity of the file via Steam. Done, no error. Repair EA AC via the installer. Success Reinstall EA AC via the installer. Success. Again, restarted the PC. No error on startup. The game was tested between each steps. Same error. Some other user on reddit seemed to have the same problem since yesterday. I recently did a windows 10 reinstall.SolvedAnti-cheat throws Event ID 1, ExitType: 95 (207)
Greetings With the news of BF6, I decided to boot up BF2042 again for a revisit. To my dismay, it wouldn't launch. The solution, though, was to enable Secure Boot. Except it is already enabled. So, what happens? The procedure and result is as follows: * Launch via Steam * EA App opens, processes, game splash window opens * Some 20 to 30 seconds later, game splash window disappears and EA App throws error: "Failed to launch game. An error on our end caused the launch to fail Try again a little later". So, Inspecting Windows Event Viewer, I see that the EAAntiCheatService throws an error, Event 1, with the following message: "EAAntiCheatService ExitType: 95 (207)" Repeating the procedure yields the exact same event as well. Now, I've been through the motions regarding validating game data, uninstalling the game, then reinstalling (on a different drive even), Repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled EA Javelin Anti Cheat for BF, as well as completely removed and reinstalled the anti cheat itself, uninstalled and reinstalled EA App, making sure I have no Origin folders remaining that could conflict, removed USB connectables, ran both EA App, Steam, BF2042.exe and anti-cheat as admin (via compatibility mode options) - There are plenty of other cases within the forums where I found all of these different troubleshooting approaches to fix issues related to the anti cheat, and I dare say I've been through most of them.. None of them solve the issue though, and no matter what, I always get the same result. Now, I AM a user, so it is not impossible that I missed something completely obvious during my struggles, though I've been through the motions 2 times over now - and I can also confidently say that I will be revisiting them, as I'm pretty stubborn, but.... What I am mostly wondering, is what "ExitType: 95 (207)" means in this Windows event? I cannot find any other mention of this except in one other thread, which unfortunately yielded no solution either, but more importantly, did not contain an explanation. In my line of work,,the Windows event messages are used to troubleshoot using documentation that the vendor delivers for their software, but in this case, there are only very few error messages/codes explained in the EA Javelin Anti Cheat documentation, so I'm a bit lost here. So, does anyone have any pointers as to what "ExitType: 95 (207)" means? Thanks in advance
