A Game repair/file verification through the game may fix it. Depending on what launcher you have.
"In Steam library" right click BF2042 and select Verify game files.
"In EA APP" click the three dots at top of BF2042 and select repair game.

It is repairing again and again.

Try clearing your app cache.
