PS5 with the Pulse 3D Headset. No direction on the audio at all - tried various settings in game and no difference.
Footstep audio is totally broken. Sometimes insanely loud but no direction, but most of the time foot steps are silent. This is particularly noticeable on metal surfaces such as Discard map ships. However it is massively inconsistent. Other metal floor areas on same and other maps the footsteps are silent. I get shot in the back a lot and have no audio queue there is anyone behind me.
Having headset on is usually a huge benefit in this sort of game. But it makes zero difference in BF2042. I can't tell where anything is coming from, or how far away it is. Apart from adding immersion in terms of atmosphere, there is no competitive or useful benefit to having the sound on at all. Just bizarre really in this age of Dolby Atmos, DHX and the 3D audio hardware in PS5. It's a massive dropped ball. Audio is so useful in previous BF games (I have them all!) and other similar games. Please sort it out.
