I have a brand new 2024 ASUS ROG Strix G16 (laptop) with Intel i9 processor, 32 gb RAM, 3 Tb SSD, and Nvidia 4070 GPU. I bought this computer 2 months ago and started playing battlefield 2042 for the first time and it ran great up until a couple of weeks ago when the war machine event ended. I noticed that after the event ended that I started getting some lag or stuttering during the game and it has persisted to this day. it micro stutters on the main menu and in game. when it begins to microstutter in game the Time nudge (TN) stat goes from about 20 ish anywhere up to about 900 and then it severely lags. This issue is intermittent and I have read every post and thread that I can find on the internet about these issues that players have had over all the years and tried every fix that I have read from turning off the overlays, to updating drivers, changing from WiFi to an Ethernet cable, etc (literally everything that I've read, I've tried). I have to believe it is not on my end but on the server side. My buddy who also plays battlefield 2042 has a similar laptop to mine and can sit right next to me and doesn't have a single issue. I'm about ready to call it quits which I love playing battlefield but I don't have this issue with any other game that I play. any help or insights into this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Press the tilde key ~ then type PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 1Post a picture of the graph after a stutter happens. It will show if CPU spikes are occuring.

The yellow CPU line is spiking up over 100ms. Something is causing the CPU usage to spike and is causing the stutters.I don't know what's causing the CPU to spike. It could be shader compile stutter or anticheat issue with the game. Even with Windows set for best performance there were still many cores that were parked and you were right some of the cores did reach right at 100%. So I watched some tutorial videos on how to unlock all the cores. After doing that, it has smoothed out the gameplay but there are still CPU spikes (intermittently) on the graph and some micro stutters. However, it isn't doing it nowhere near like it was. There should be a way change the CPU usage graph so it displays the usage of each individual CPU core in Task Manager.
To see CPU usage per core in Windows Task Manager, open the Performance tab, then right-click on the CPU graph and choose "Change graph to > Logical processors".
If you don't see any of the individual CPU cores reaching near 100% utilization in the task manager graph then you can rule out the spikes being a CPU issue.
I do see the CPU downclocking it's frequency quite a bit. That may be normal and a non-issue so long as none of the individuals CPU cores are going near 100%.

I have it set to high performance. I took the screen shots above after having just completed a factory reset of my pc and re-downloaded the game. Every driver is updated to the latest version and I ran tests on the cpu, ram, etc... This has got to be a server or EA issue. For it to have played fine for those couple of months but then started having issues after a patch/update, I have to believe this has nothing to do with my rig but on their end. I'm just at wits end with this.

Is Windows Power Plan set to High Performance? Do you notice the CPU frequency dropping, for example going from 3GHz down to 2GHz?

Since CPU usage is dropping during the spikes instead of increasing. It makes me think there's some sort of processing stall occuring. I have no idea where it's occuring (CPU, GPU, RAM) or what's causing it (EA anticheat, PC driver, game patch).
You can attempt to track down processing stalls with LatencyMon.

You are correct about the RAM usage. No issue there. I did run the game in windowed mode and brought up the task manager. When the in game graph spiked I watched the processes and noticed that the CPU usage dropped dramatically (around 10) for battlefield but then went back to running around 38 to 45ish. There was nothing else that I could tell that was utilizing any of the CPU and if it did it was minuscule. Total CPU usage never exceeded 50% even with a spikes and lags. I did however fool around with the game mode on Windows 11 and I ended up turning it off and it caused the game to run smoothly for about 3 or 4 matches and then the issue came back. But even with game mode turned off now it still has those CPU spikes and then starts to lag.

About 4 days ago, I had a bad RAM stick removed. Still have 32 gigs installed. i9 chip and a 4070 super card. After RAM removal, 2042 lags and gun stutters. NEVER had a singe issue till now. Tried all kinds of things. but still unplayable....
