Launch Error - Invalid Game Executable

I've been playing BF2042 via the Steam client and only recently ran into a launch error. The Launce error reads: Invalid game executable:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2042\BF2042.exe."

Has anyone run into this issue and found a fix?

Couple things I've tried with no luck:

- Read that it could be an antivirus thing, so I added the Steam folder to the list of exceptions within the antivirus, cleared temp folders and did a computer restart

- Thought maybe it could be an issue with the Steam client, so I tried starting via the EA client

I've also read that it could be the computer specs are not adequate. I don't think that would be the issue as I've played 160+hrs with no problems.

Next thing I'll try on another day is a full game uninstall/install, but hoping I can avoid that.
