Matchmaking Problems lets collect information

After reading several times about this problem in several threads here in the forum, it seems to me more and more that there are some issues with the matchmaking in some regions or with some ISP.

So, I decided to open this thread to collect information for DICE about the different systems, loadings times, region and maybe information about your ISP to check if there a possible problem with match making in the Game, some server hosts and\or some ISP.

To make it comparable I would suggest that we only take AoW modes to test this

Maybe we can determine if there is a scheme that DICE can follow up to fix the problem.

So this are my collected information:

- Region: EU (Germany)

- ISP: Telekom

- System: PC (Steam)

- Cross Play: off

- Matchmaking time:  around 10 seconds

(After the matchmaking comes a countdown of 10 seconds that you cannot skip, so we leave it out!)

- Map Loading time: 15-25 seconds (SSD)

- Staying on Squad Scree on a Fresh start: 10-60 seconds (On PC there are players which have the game installed on a classic HDD which increases loading time very much, which increase the waiting time for others on the server)

- Ping: 15-20ms

Also, I would kindly ask you to stay on topic, so that we don’t lose the overview here.

Thnx and see you on the Battlefield

  • No real issues for (posting for context), PS5 with crossplay off UK.

I have had a couple of instances of 'waiting for players to join' which feels very similar to previous tiles infinite loading bug.  Quiting matchmaking and starting again usually resolves this.

  • - Region: Africa (South Africa)

    - ISP: Afrihost

    - System: PC (Origin or EA Desktop)

    - Cross-Play: On otherwise unable to find game.

    - Matchmaking time: "Waiting For Players To Join around 40 minutes until it times out and goes back to the home screen. Unable to find a match between 22:00 until 19:00 which is 20 hours every day where players are unable to find a match to a multiplayer game!

(After the matchmaking comes a countdown of 10 seconds that you cannot skip, so we leave it out!)

    - Map Loading time: 15-25 seconds (SSD)

    - Staying on Squad Screen on a Fresh start: 10-60 seconds (On PC there are players which have the game installed on a classic HDD which increases loading time very much, which increase the waiting time for others on the server)

    - Ping: 25ms

Please let us South Africans have the option to join the busy EU servers if unable to find a match on local servers

@CountSero In my opinion it has nothing to do, how you are connected to the internet, but where.

When you start match making you are assigned to a match making pool of candidates based on a couple of criteria

    1. Crossplay On / Off (Off = all players are on the same Platform)
    2. Platform (PC, PS current gen, XBox current gen, PS last gen, XBox last gen)
    3. Geo Location
    4. Game Mode (Conquest Large, Conquest Small, Breakthrough Large, Breakthrough Small)
    5. Platform homogeneous parties are not matched to Crossplay Off matches.

I am not sure, if Conquest Small and Breakthrough Small allow crossplay matches across all five platforms.

Since the Game defaults to Crossplay ON and changes your setting to ON when you try to join a crossplay enabled party this is why it easier to find crossplay matches.

    • Region: North America
    • ISP: Spectrum
    • System: PS5
    • Cross-Play: On
    • Matchmaking Time: 10-15 Seconds
    • (Map doesn't load, immediately kicks me back to the menu screen)
    • Map Loading Time: N/A
  • I'm getting the same thing.  It doesn't matter what I try to play, even solo play kicks me out with 'Matchmaking failed' and an error code.

  • Turns out it was due to my game not having the latest version (a new patch came out I guess).  I couldn't get the EA App to update the game no matter what I did.  So I closed it and opened Origin.  It auto detected the game was installed and updated it, now I'm up and running....and the EA App is supposed to replace Origin?  ...yeah right...

@void269 yes, it seems to be the plan that the EA App will replace origin. But if you bought the game on Steam, you need still origin, the beta of the EA App is not working together with steam. And if you using the EA App, you need to close it before you can start the game on Steam.
