Solution to the problem I was having: delete the cache folder in My Documents/Battlefield 2042
Wasn't able to fix the issue but found a work around. I have a razer deathadder mouse. So, I used razer synapse and had to bind a keyboard key to my mouse buttons. Then just changed the in game keyboard key to the key that I bound on my mouse. If that makes sense.
Yeah that makes sense I have a Razor Basilisk V2 mouse and BlackWidow V3 pro keyboard so if resetting the game files and reinstalling doesn’t work I’ll go that route. Game ran fine and then it reset and went back to the tutorial ever since then the game hasn’t worked. Idk what happened but it’s lame
ok i want to say i did find a resolution to fix this error/bug. in order to fix this bug you will need to delete your cache or game files in your documents after uninstalling the game. then you can re-install the game, you will be taken back through the tutorial make sure your controller is not connected (as mine was previously and I'm unsure if that was an issue) I was able to set all my keybinds with no issue in the tutorial i then exited to menu and everything is working as it should i also did not lose any of my rank, progress, or preorder skins.
uninstall game (make sure any add-ons are uninstalled also.)
once uninstalled.
Go to Files>(This PC)Documents>Battlefield 2042
delete Battlefield 2042
Reinstall Battlefield 2042
once reinstalled launch the game and proceed through the tutorial. You should be able to set all keybinds without the bug interfering or having to set keys through alternate means.
