[PC] Game Wont Shutdown Fully

[PC]

Hello I'm having a bug with my battlefield 2042, I have the steam version but then its linked to my EA account which I have other BF games installed on. So the main issue is when I try to close the game down, I close it down and then it does not close down in my task manager so I can see it's still holding onto between 6 and 7 GB of RAM in my memory within task manager and if I try to click on the process and end task it does nothing at all. If I try to exit steam it tells me to close the game down even though the game isn't running it's just bugging out and not closing down properly, it closes the game fully so it isn't able to be seen and it isn't on my taskbar on the bottom but it's still showing in my task manager as running. if I try to click my power button and shutdown or restart on the bottom left in windows (running win 10 21H2) it does nothing at all, so I can't power down my computer and get the game to close fully down unless I hold down my physical power button on my PC which I don't think is very healthy for the long-term. I really want this to be fixed because I wanna actually play the game and I've got no idea where to go to get support on this. GPU - 3090TI CPU - i9-12900K RAM - 32GB DDR5 my graphics driver currently is 528.49

  • @TheStickyGamer I'd like to add that I play BF4 and BF3 and BF5 on this system and I've had no issue with those titles. I'd love to get this fixed, as no one in my position would want to have to physically power off their PC to get the RAM to clear up properly. I can potentially record a video of this happening but is it really needed since I think I've explained my issue well enough but I don't mind making a video showing this issue long as it looks like I'm going to receive some help
  • seems like once they've got my money they dont care can't even open a support case always leads to community forum which doesn't help me feel ignored

as this looks like a new bug I suggest u go to support, rather than post it on forums - it seems unlikely any player would be able to help you :/

  • @Sulu9 I would but the create case button does not work, tried it on two different browsers so looks like I'm outta luck

try a sfc scan to check youre windows for healt.
Also do a repair game with the game platform you did buy bf2042 at !

SFC - Windows Health Check and MEM check

Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
Use the following command lines, pressing Enter after each
(make sure you wait till each of the commands is executed properly):

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

make sure windows and system drivers are update (gpu, sound, ect ect driver)
