This issue is resolved for me. I've been able to successfully find full games for a few weeks now. I play on Xbox. The trick for me was making sure BOTH cross-play settings were enabled - the one for the console AND the one in the game itself. Yea if it's a region thing, that's a bummer. I'd actually consider that a big bug. If the game is sold in regions with low player count then it would seem reasonable that the game should be designed in a way to enable those players to consistently play the game.

wow you mean a "Server browser" ... i've never heard of any game that has that feature... it must be a legacy feature, i live in the meddle east as well, used to always find games in BF4 because of the server browser, in BF2042 i can't queue a single game.
I have the exact same problem on XBOX ONE X. But it only started after the Season 2 update was installed.
Since Season 1 is over I have not been able to play online. Whatever game type I try, all the rooms are and stays empty.
Before season 2 I have never ever had this issue. Sometimes it took more time to join (1 minute) but that was the worst case.
The issue is also resolved for me.
From the game options/General, the Crossplay options was not showing. That was the indicator of the issue. To fix it I went through those steps.
Some are probably unnecessary but they are what I did.
I have had to disable crossplay on my Xbox One X console.
Quit rhe game. Not just closing it but actually quitting it from the game icon menu)
Restart my console.
Open the game and look for the Cross-play in settings. (Not visible when enabled on Console).
Enable the Cross-play on my console.
Quit the game.
Restart my console
Open back the game: Options/General and turn on Cross-Play. Cross-play was now showing.
I hope those steps can help some XBOX One X players
i am really really sad i needed to open a discussion to find out about the really weird issue am facing ... the game was working almost flawless on season 1 with no issues on PC and without me touching any settings anywhere what so ever .. after the last 2 updates including the season 2 one .. the game stopped finding any active matches .. it keeps getting me in empty lobbies with the search for players icon keep rotating without getting anyone into the game for over 10 minutes or more .. this issue only happens with battlefield 2042 ... all other games working fine and i turned off firewall .. reset network .. made game and origins administrator .. enable/disable cross play .. i did it all .. and still no use .. HELL .. even browsing matches i find most of matches connection is on RED BAR .. very bad connection with that server ALTHOUGH i have a fiber optics internet connection with over 500 download speed and 150 upload speed .. i really couldn't find whats going on .. please help
Btw i play from UAE middle east and I GUESS am not the only one facing this .. some lobbies i get into there are one or two players waiting for few minutes with me and they leave in less than 5 minutes losing hope that anyone will join after

@Moome3lr1Yea brother, server browsers used to give us BF players the option to pick any sever we wanted, see the players in game etc... no idea why we don't have it now. . . I haven't played BF since BF4, don't know what's going on anymore. No Hardcore mode, trying way too hard to be like CoD... 😒
