Couldn't connect normally, but using a VPN connected thru Chicago worked. I'm on the west coast, LA area using ATT Fiber.

Hey all,
So just to double-check: the majority of you are with AT&T?
I am. And yes, looks like.
Yes it has to be ATT. Although the two reps I called yesterday do not know how to fix. I am hard wired Xbox. On the phone we tried VPN, DNS settings, I even logged into second Xbox on a different profile in my home and it was persistence data for a profile that’s never played the game. 6 hours of frustration I connected Verizon hot spot on phone and instant connection. Sad thing is ATT doesn’t know what to do. And EA doesn’t.
I feel like we are in the mom and pop loop.
Ask your mom, ask your dad.
no answers.I've been trying since yesterday on two separate computers (both using AT&T internet), with no success.
Im not going to blame ATT for this. It has connected for the past two years and since yesterday now its not. I can connect to Steam and play CS:GO, connect to Battlenet and play COD, yet when i connect with the EA app I cant play Battlefield. Its a Dice/EA problem. Oh well Im off to play some BattleBit.

Well connected normally today, no VPN. One time, and it took longer than normal. One time it worked and after that, nope. Had to go back to the VPN, Thru Vegas server. On ATT Fiber. At least I can play. I did repair the game too and rebooted my computer. That didn't help.
Just finished playing BFV and some BF4, its not AT&T but Dice/EA 2042 servers.
- IPFreely_C4S2 years agoRising Adventurer@JollyJester Yeah, it's a BF2042 issue. My son and i gave up yesterday and played BF4 without any issues whatsoever.
The problems for me are occurring long before the game ever tries to connect to a game server, so it has to be something affecting the pre-game infrastructure. Things like anti-cheat, identity, version checks, or (would not surprise me at all) customer data collection.
Some suggested an ISP issue and while it's certainly not impossible that an ISP is blocking an address or port #, the fact that the game sometimes just exists and even when it does not, never provides any useful error info. is not helping the situation. Lots of folks have reported the persistence related error codes already, so either EA doesn't actually look at any of this forum stuff, or the error codes on the screen are as useless to them as they are to us. I finally got on after I loaded up my VPN and put my location as Los Angeles. Im in the midwest so who knows whats wrong with the Dice/EA servers.
Yeah, I use AT&T fiber also in the South\Central region but I just opened up BF4 and played without any issues. It's not an internet problem. All my other games also work without incident. Not sure why they can't figure this out.
Yea, I'm on ATT Fiber in the southeast and having issues in the evening yesterday and today and using both ATT and CloudFlare DNS. I did launch the game successfully this morning before going to work just fine. Bummer man, right?
Yes, ATT fiber east coast
I think we get that this could be an att issue. Can one of you folks at EA tell us what to tell ATT? I can't tell them that I can't load persistence data. What does the error code actually mean? What exactly can't i connect to? Ports, IPs, names, etc would help.
- @EA_Leeuw yes I am
ATT Fiber 2.5GB located in Ohio. Was receiving the persistence data error sporadically for a few weeks, but have been completely unable to play BF2042 at all yesterday and today. Hardwired.
- @VizardXY same here
- @EA_Leeuw I've been unable to connect for the past 2 days. and yes I'm on AT&T. and yes, all my other games work just fine. fix this shiz now! WTF?!!!
Yes AT&T Fiber South Carolina. I can get it to work with a VPN, but the performance is not particularly good.
Any update on this?
@EA_Leeuw can we get an update please?
Funny because others are saying on the west coast to use midwest servers
I am using at&t out in Tennessee on ps5 and have not been able to connect since Tuesday evening. Other games are working fine.
.
- @EA_Leeuw Yes I am. Dumb question, how do you connect through a VPN if one is going through the EA app?
