Reboot your systemyou both did try a cleanboot ?
Cleanboot / Msconfig
reboot pc by a clean boot:

Hide all Microsoft services, DISABLE (uncheck) ALL other processes, apps and services !
Cleanboot is just a one time clean boot ! Next reboot all will be reset and a normal boot will be occure.
Use msconfig to disable apps permanent each for new reboot.
DISABLE ALL other processes, apps and services from booting with windows, check instructions below:
Use the keyboard shortcut “Windows Key + R” and the “Run” window will open.
In the text box, typ MSCONFIG and press Enter or OK and the MsConfig window will open".
Select the tab STARTUP , (select OPEN TASK MANAGER) and disable apps/programs by right click at them!
Those disabled apps will no longer boot with Windows , till ya set them enabled again !Reboot system !
Now test game and update us please ! Hi!
Quick update:
Nothing has changed. I've tried doing all the scans you instructed me to do, and some corrupted files were actually discovered and repaired. However, before I go through the effort of doing this clean boot thing, how likely is it that a rogue background program really is the root of my issue? I tried closing a ton of background programs, rolling back my nvidia driver, and nothing. I also forgot to mention this earlier but this issue also prevents me from even getting into solo games. Is Battlefield 2042 so poorly optimized that one background program is literally restricting me from playing any part of the game whatsoever, or is it more likely that Battlefield 2042 is at fault here? Also for the sake of context, I have tons of other games and I have NEVER had an issue like this with any of them. I frequently play Valorant and it works perfectly.
To summarize, is it really worth my time to go through this clean boot process and test individual background applications one by one to potentially find a culprit, or is that just you giving advice on a whim without any real idea what could be causing this?Thank you!

@430_Matthewd, well, yes, if you want to find the possible cause of the issue. 🙂 PC troubleshooting unfortunately can take quite the effort sometimes if the cause of the issue isn't 100% clear immediately.
Hi again!
Quick update:My issue was solved. I am a college student and I recently returned home with my PC for break. Magically, Battlefield 2042 works now. I am forced to believe that the reason it wasn't working is because it is blocked on my college's WiFi. This should NOT have been the case because my PC is registered on their gaming network AND I play with an ethernet cable 24/7. The WiFi is extremely powerful and does not conflict with any other games this way.
Regardless, thank you all for the help!

Hey @430_Matthewd,
Appreciate the update.
I already had the feeling that it was something like this. Unfortunately, there are a number of other threads on the forum discussing similar situations, which show that their school is blocking some ports/connections that Battlefield 2042 needs to function. These problems were indeed also solved when playing on a different, normal network.
Maybe it is worth to try to get in touch with the administrators of the network to see if they can whitelist BF2042?
Either way; I am glad to read that you have found the cause of the issue. 🙂 I have had no success with anything suggested, have even done a complete wipe and new install of windows. my home network is a new 5g one and every single game i play works fine, bf2042 is the only game that breaks.

@CanIGetaRed0, hmm, those kinds of things/services are known to block some games/online gaming.
Could you maybe try to get in touch with the provides of this Mobile Network and check with them if they know if they are blocking something? I'm having the player disconnect timeout error about 30 seconds into a match and boot to lobby. I'm also on t-mobile home internet, 5G service. Battlefield is the only game that doesn't work, and it was working fine since launch until a couple weeks ago

Hey @rustee_tromb0ne,
It could be that T-Mobile has changed something in their network that now blocks the game. Did you try to get in touch with them already? No there's nothing wrong with it. 2042 is the only game that has issues.
FROM what they said, everything should work. and i mean bf is the only game that does not work

@CanIGetaRed0 @rustee_tromb0ne then it is very possible that they are blocking ports etc. that Battlefield 2042 needs in order to work. Are you able to test it on another network?
