Re: Can't invite EA friends

Similarly I have a friend on PS5 who has loaded the PS4 version as I'm on xbox one playing with another friend who's on PS4. 

So the 2 friends can find each other on PSN but when I search  for my friend via his GT I can't find him.

He's not sure of his EA ID as that was previously linked to his old xbox account which he no longer uses.

Very similar issue here on PC. Can't play with a friend who's on Xbox One. We couldn't find each other on EA for a long time eventually I had to sign into his origin on my PC and add myself from his account via email search. When we're both online it appears on BF2042 that he's offline and I can't invite him under the EA friends list. When we try to search each other's EA ID's under the invite tab nothing comes up for either of us. And then we can't add each other in game, we don't appear in game under the friends tab, and we can't play together. If I had known this would be and issue I would've bought the game on PS4 but I have friends on gen 4 consoles and PC and I can't play with both at the same time. Nor am I trying to pay and additional $60 for the game on PS4. Origin needs to fix this because the gen 5 consoles are hard enough to get. Maybe don't require the 128 person lobbies if you're trying to play together. I've wasted so much time trying to troubleshoot this that I don't even want to play anymore if I have to play solo.

Recommend logging into https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/aboutme/index to see what your EA ID is.

This is why I'm on this thread currently and seeking answers. I can't find anyone through the EA id search . 

I've tried everything above and nothing works. 

Adding via EA search seems to be the common reply here and trust me I've searched for countless people to play the game with and can't ever find them!. Doesn't matter of it's PSN or PC they never appear. Xbox of course I can find them it's the same console otherwise your EA search is dog 💩. 

Atic,  I like the OP am having the same problem.  But I get to that screen you SS'd in 2042 (PC) and press left click to add friend.  Nothing happens at all.  Same screen, no friends nothing. Solutions?

Both of us are on PC.  I can find him on the friend search IG but nothing I do will add him. We are friends on EA but don't see him in game friends.  Not to mention EA play doesn't show whether or not he is playing 2042 or not.  Useless app never bloody works!!!

Oh, also I dont know if this makes a difference or not.  We are both using the game from XBOX Game pass for PC, which downloaded the game through EA Play.

They do not appear in this search. None of my wa friends show on my friends list. Running on Xbox One

I’ve been having this same issue. I cant invite friends from anywhere. EA play shows they’re online and everything. Even on every other platform of BF2042 they don’t pop up. Is there gonna be a real solution or update towards this issue anytime soon since it’s been an issue for a lot of people for 2-3 years now:/

I don’t even have that bottom search bar. How do I add them then? 

Hey.. You can try going onto your playstation account.. go to Privacy settings then go to Personal info/settings.. on the right, the 5th option down is Allow Cross Play,, make sure that is set to allow..

It doesn't matter, It has to be something on the EA side. I play with a group of players on PC's with no issues until this latest update, after the 1/12/24 update none of us can find each other in-game and we can't add as friends in-game even though we're still showing up as friends on EA out of the game. Also, all of the recent history is gone? who knows? 

I’m trying to play battlefield 2042 and it will not let me invite my friend to play even though it shows he’s online and I’ve typed his name into the search bar and still nothing 

Ea is a piece of garage. They can’t make anything work plus they spam you with you need to add them on ea not origin like ever one uses origin. There’s probably no answer for this tho

Do not expect a fix to this issue EA does not care this crap has been going on since release and EA still has not fixed the issue. They are too busy competing with Call of Duty to make a good game these days and they screwed us Medal of Honor players over by shutting down the Warfighter servers when a lot of us still played it. EA has become a crappy company, and they don't care about the player they just care about money now of days and it sad.

I think it might be an issue with newer gen consoles, im on ps5 and cant add my friends who are on ps4 and xbox one, tried going through psn to join but it told me i needed to download a whole new game (the ps4 version), and tried adding through ea name and it didnt work at all. they cant find me, i cant find them. Yall need to sort this asap istg its taken me two days to be able to play with my friends.

mellowghost05if you're on PS5 and want to play with PS4 players, you'll need to install the PS4 version of the game.
