Re: DirectX E_OUTOFMEMORY Error

@off3nc3 Hilarious post. It was, in fact, a bad 13900. I spoke with Intel and they had me run some tests. All of which passed (except the XTU stress test which failed once but then succeeded for all subsequent runs). I got tired of being stuck with an unstable system so I went to Micro Center and got an i9-13900K and swapped it into my system. It runs like a dream now. I haven't received that error again and 2042 has only crashed ONCE in the past few days and only after an eight hour session. I told Intel this and they concurred with my opinion that, given nothing else in my system has changed, the processor is to blame. Intel has begun the refund process with me so I can return the faulty processor to them. I'll be hanging onto the good one that I got from Micro Center.

@Rokebo73 Thanks for your assistance in trying to help me diagnose this. @iElessar You were right on the money. It was because of a bad CPU. 🙌

@off3nc3 You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. That DirectX error has nothing to do with netcode. Please stop talking like you're some sort of subject matter expert if you haven't the faintest clue what's going on. @Rokebo73 was way closer to figuring this out than you were. Just because you're running the same CPU as me doesn't mean that Intel can't possibly have a quality control issue that led to bad batches of it being sold in the wild. 🤓

@thedudeguy1  Good to read youre problem is solved.
Also good to know (for other poeple)  that software does not always report / show the issue, as i said in other topics to other people many , many times already !

Same as memory test tools, they do not always report / show an error if something is wrong , WHY ? I cant tell ya, but hardware is hardware , and if something is bad/faulty it could mess up the whole system !

Software will not always report / show an issuies , UNFORTUNALLY !!
Im glad youre back into the game !!!

    GAME ON !!

    Cheers

PS THIS TOPIC NEED TO BE PINNEND AND NOTED.

TEST TOOLS (FOR CPU / GPU / MEMORY) DO NOT ALWAYS REPORT / SHOW AN ISSUE WITH HARDWARE !!!!!!
BUT YA STILL NEED TO TEST ALL HARDWARE TO FIND THE CULPRIT !

Also keep in mind that socket lga1700 and cpu could or are already bend, with those temps out of the box it can influence connections/pins and also

cause issues ya read all about in other topics.

Dont screw them to tight or oneven those screws with your (custom) AIO or AIR cooler,

A reseat from CPU could already solve youre issue if it is not the memory / Hz (XPM/DOCP.....) / OC / psu ,  ect ect

If ya did reseat cpu a CLR CMOS need to be done also , dont forget to reconfig bios settings after CLR CMOS (check manual for clr cmos).

Post youre info what it did for you after reseat cpu (and did all other trouble shoot first mentioned above here!)

    I’m glad OP.

    Did you replace it completely?

@iElessar Yep! Took out the faulty one, cleaned the paste off of it, boxed it up, and am waiting for shipping instructions from Intel. I bought a new one from Micro Center a few days ago, applied thermal paste, installed it, and have been gaming on it without issue for the past several days.

@thedudeguy1And you have a clue ? 🙂 It's really weird because I know people with lower end CPU's that experience and 4090 rtx's suffered from this bug.

I run 13900K and have had issues with this game and this game alone, I made it work since I troubleshooted it myself with settings and tweaks and patch after patch the game gets even more broken on users end.

If you got a faulty CPU that's your issue , I run every game out there under the sun and finished every title this year without any hitches or issues or crashes except for BF 2042 that speaks volumes about the optimization of this game.

But imagine thinking and being this gulible around here to get fooled into thinking it's a CPU issue  nah scratch that the best CPU on the market for gaming currently has had some bad batches to be the excuse for the game to not run when there have been dozens upon dozens of threads on this issue on this forum from all kinds of hardware components and on the steam forum for months , let me guess all of them we're a part of the bad batch ? ayyy lmao

Let's talk when the next patch hits 🙂 and the CTD's happen again.

@off3nc3  it can also be faulty / incomptabile ram (not in qvl).
And / Or some bios (out of date version) settings that pushes system to or even over the max (oc)
That need to be investigated, especially when ya got the z690 or the newer z790 boards , they are still in dev. ,mode with software (bios for example) and their hardware compatability !

    Hello!

I've been struggling with that issue and I've tried a lot of recommendations but this is what solved it on my computer (CPU 13900k, MB MSI PRO Z790-A WIFI, Video card MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Suprim X and RAM G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB DIMM Kit 64GB, DDR5-6000):

    Underclock the CPU slightly.

I used Intel Extreme Tuning Utility for the ease of use. You'll find a brief explanation in those two pictures that I attached.

I hope it works for you. I recommend to work your way up by adding more clock once you've found a working clock speed for Battlefield 2042.

    Hi all,

This is also is happening to me.  ONLY WITH EA Games.
Game either Crashes without any notice.  Crashes seconds on entering a map without any notice,
DirectX error happen  at the beginning, during, and almost at the end of a map.
Sometimes the machine will reboot just by Clicking on the Battlefield 2042 icon in the desktop, or when entering a map.

I have tried playing the game under a local admin account - No change all of the above applies.

Clean Install. - No  change all of the above applies

Game Reinstall  - No  change all of the above applies.

    Here is my system info:
    Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type WIN 11 Pro 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
    Video Card
    DirectX version: 12.0
GPU processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
    Driver version: 551.61
    Driver Type: DCH
    Direct3D feature level: 12_1
    CUDA Cores: 8704
    Resizable BAR Yes
    Core clock: 1710 MHz
    Memory data rate: 19.00 Gbps
    Memory interface: 320-bit
    Memory bandwidth: 760.08 GB/s
Total available graphics memory: 26494 MB
Dedicated video memory: 10240 MB GDDR6X
    System video memory: 0 MB

I am really just frustrated by this.
Tried the CPU test and passed - Just in case.  And I am not overclocking.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.
