Re: DirectX Error 'could not allocate sufficient memory' crashes

@Pandykitten Mem test does not always show errors if mem is faulty/broken.
test game by using only 1 ram module in bank a1.
Do the same for the other ram module and check if one is causing any issues!

  • @Rokebo73 I have already tried that with no success. I am currently trying to underclock my 13900k a few steps down from below default stock values with some success. (It was never overclocked) Will post an update after I have done more testing.

Try to disable ResizableBAR in BIOS settings and try again. This solved it for me. Never had the error before the latest update.

  • Hi Pandykitten - any update on this following your testing?  I'm having a similar issue and also have a 13900k.  Thanks!

Same issue here - also Intel i13900 CPU.  Started with latest update, GPU out of memory errors.  On an Nvidia 4090 graphics card.

Having trawled through this forum + Reddit + others, it was suggested that I underclock my P-Cores down a little: moving them to 5.3Ghz vs 5.5Ghz seemed to do the trick.

Crazy that this is the solution though... the fact that a whole bunch of people running 13900s have encountered the same problem, having been able to run the game fine before, suggests that DICE have introduced something that is making these high-end CPUs unhappy.

@A_Red_December I see you tried it and it worked, that’s good news! It has been working for me for a month now after these changes. I’ve wanted to confirm if it works for others too so hopefully this can help more people with the i9 13900k.

    is there an i9 13900K issue ?

Yeah seems to be.  Or at least it's happening a bunch to 13900Ks, and if underclocking is the answer, then that would suggest so.

@Pandykitten glad it worked for you too!

Downloading the intel extreme tuning utility program from their website and creating a specific profile with reducing the cores to 54x or 53x to switch to when running BF2042 seems to be the easiest option for this fix and working. This doesn’t require any bios interaction.

  • This right here.  Just used the  intel extreme tuning utility program and changed my performance core ratio from 55x to 52x and ive not had the 'out of memory error' so far.

Wow, I have 13700k running at 5.5 ghz, rtx 4080, 32 gig ddr5 6000mhz ram, I was playing fine until recently. Then I started to get that direct3d could not allocate sufficient memory bla bla bla.

I did everything including deleting the game and clean install, even reformatted my Samsung 990 pro, no way. I could not even make it to the main menu.

Then I saw here lowering the overclock would work. Went into the bios and got down to 5.2 from 5.5. and gave it a try and what? Holy ...ıt! It worked. Now I play it again with no error. Guess the recent patch did it coz it was working fine until before it.
