Did you not read the post at all? I’ve done every cache reset possible: the main reason people come to this site is because they’ve already tried the most basic of the troubleshooting options. It has nothing to do with the Cache for the Microsoft store, EA App or BF2042 in general.

You didn't specify which so I wanted to make sure clearing the cache for the EA App was covered.
Do you have a firewall in place? You could try performing a clean boot and then launching the EA App. That way, we know no other programs are getting in the way of the download.
I've tried the clean boot option before as well. Just because, I ran through it again just to give it a second shot. Still stuck on preparing. And there should be no firewall at all. I've never tried port forwarding or messed with the firewall in any way.

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the EA App?
Yes I'd say at least twice now. Did it again just now to give it another go around.

I have found out that this is an issue we're aware of and investigating. We'll just have to wait until that completes and a fix is issued. If we find any other workarounds, we'll provide an update.
Awesome. For some reason it’s only 2042. I’ve downloaded every other BF game and the app works fine. Subscribed to updates for this.
I have exactly the same issue!!! Cleared cache, reinstaled, did everything. BF1 and BF5 had no problem to download, but for some reaseon BF2042 cant. Shows "Prepairing" thats it...
Has there been a solution? I'm having this problem at the moment...

same here, tried everything. stuck on Preparing to download.
