Re: Performance Icons

Hi @DeviantWolf

That sounds like the packet loss indicator. Can we try running through some troubleshooting to see if we can help stop it from happening?

A good place to start would be with the basic connection steps from the EA Help website. If you're still seeing it after that can you let me know which platform you're playing on?

    @DeviantWolf

    Got it, thanks!

    Would you mind if we try changing the Windows DNS settings to see if that makes any difference? Sometimes using a different DNS can help with issues like this.

    You can update the DNS through the Windows TCP/IP Settings. You can find more details on how to get there at the Microsoft Support website. Choosing the Manual option will let you enter a DNS of your choice. I usually recommend the public Google DNS (Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8; Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4), but some people have mentioned that using the public Cloudflare DNS can also help (Primary DNS: 1.1.1.1).

    Let me know if you're still seeing any of the icons popping up after that. Thanks!

    Thank you for giving it a shot.

    What happens if you start your PC in a Clean Boot before you launch BF2042? That way if there's something else running that could be related to the issues that might help get around it.

    You can find more details on how to set up a Clean Boot at the EA Help website. Once you've had the chance to give it a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

    I do a clean boot and probably the first 3 or so minutes of a match, it runs fine then it's yet again, nothing but packet loss.

    Hmm, gotcha. Are there any other devices connecting to the same network around the time you're seeing it happen?

  • @EA_Kent

    There are times when there is other devices, and there's others when it's just the computer I'm playing on, both times it occurs

    @DeviantWolf

    Hmm, got it.

    I was curious if setting a static IP address for your PC could make a difference. If you can give that a shot I would really appreciate it. If you need more details on how to set up a Static IP, I'd recommend checking out the Port Forward website where they have instructions for a lot of different platforms.

    Once you're able to give it a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

    @DeviantWolf

    Thanks for following up and letting me know!

    Looking through the DxDiag you shared I noticed some Windows processes crashing in the diagnostics section. When you've got a chance can you try running the Windows System File Checker tool to see if it's able to find any issues?

    Once you are able to give it a try let me know if it helps. Thanks again.
