RESOLVED - Portal "The Game Session Is Not Available" PS4/Xbox One - 8 Mar. '23

    Hey everyone, 

    Unfortunately, as you can see from my colleague's post, the problem had indeed come back over the weekend. But this should also be resolved now.

    If you are still experiencing this problem, please let us know! If not, the thread will soon be locked.

Hey all,

Thanks for the reports.

Are you all on either a PS4 or Xbox One/One S/One X?

Also, do you mean that you're not able to join any hosted Portal games?

    Exactly the same, no access to portal games as of 8th of March 2023, what's going on guys...

      @Nur5ey3 i found something if u join an empty portal server u can normally but if there is even 1 player in the sever its doesn't join

      Same problem here. Since last update, unable to join any kind of portal match.

      I am still having this issue at times and I host my own server. My son and I just updated today and I can play or he can play. But neither of us can play on my portal server together. If he can join it boots me with this same error?..! Any help or advice would be appreciated

        Hey @Queen-of-Deadly,

        As the original cause of the issue, and therefore the main issue, got resolved, the thread will be locked.

        If you're still experiencing the issue, it would be recommended to create a new thread.

    On Xbox S. All portal Hosted fail. Numerous reboots.

      Thanks for the examples, all. Does the issue persist if you re-build your own Portal server from scratch?

      I know that some of you are also running into this issue when joining a Portal server that is hosted by someone else.

        Creating a server sometimes results in "Server not found" (IIRC) -error and the game won't let you host the server. After game rest and multiple tries I was able to create and host a server, but ping was 300+, suggesting it was created outside of my region. Other players have experienced similar results. Even if you manage to create and host a server, you can't find it on the browser. There are instances, where you can find it (if you specifically know the name of the server and add that to the search)

        Don't know about others, but my server browser has been stuck with the same results couple of days now, since the browser lists the same servers, with same player counts. I think those portal experiences doesn't actually have players on them, and those servers aren't actually active atm (therefore joining them results in variety of errors). Might be some sort of browser refresh -issue also?

    Yep, PS4, no access to any portal games. Games are there, and available but can't play.

      How often do EA read these message boards will this problem be fixed soon not a big fan of default servers would like to be able to access portal servers again soon

    Yeah I'm on ps4 and haven't been able to get on for the last 3 days.Every Portal game shows "Error game is invalid "

    Ps4 but from reading the threads I've noticed it's all consoles that are doing it and just not the PC

      Hey @GTR_GUY_89,

      The issue is not affecting PC or PS5 players, but only PS4 / Xbox One (and One S/One X), and only Portal servers/experiences that are being created by other players or by yourself.

      The teams are looking into it.
