I have the game on both PS5 and Series X. On PS5 is runs buttery smooth, no issues. On Series X the game is very often choppy, has noticeable FPS drops, and quite often freezes for about 10 seconds, and sometimes hard crashes to the desktop. This issue is CONSISTENT in 128 player conquest and breakthrough modes with crossplay ON. Happens in roughly every game. Things I have already tried: completely deleted and re-downloaded the game; hard reset and power cycled my Xbox, and deleted more games to ensure I have lots of SSD storage. The game is still very buggy and technically deficient.

Same here! Xbox series X. And yesterday I have my first crash due to this performance issue.Usually the game starts to lag with low frame rate, for 5 minutes or more, until the end of the round.And it's very random, in any of the maps, it's more frequently in the manifest map.

Bf2042. Xbox series x crashing to home every 20-40 min. 4th one just now. Haven’t been able to finish a full round. Sometimes “lost connection to ea servers…” or sometimes just black screen then xbox main menu Home. resert router/modem and reset xbox. Connected via Ethernet and no issues with the speed on my other devices. Feels like more often than not the crash happenswhen in the heat of the battle - lots of action all around, aka when having the most fun. it’s always been somewhat unstable but especially bad right now and can’t find reason on my end. please advise. Yes the firmware is up to date. The fact that the game is fine on a nearly decade old console but won't play on the current generation is pretty frustrating. Like I said before I have tried every possible fix, but still crashes the whole console. This seems to be a pretty common issue on the new generation of consoles from what I am seeing

Every other game works fine btw. 2042 is the only one that I play causing this.

Happened to me only once or twice before the last patch, but since the patch it's happening fairly regularly. Only difference : before the last patch I was playing almost exclusively with crossplay off, unfortunately I can't do it anymore since the patch and have been playing only with crossplay on.

Could you try to clear the local and online storage for 2042 and see if that helps. @Nayyarp

@EA_Atic Hello EA Atic, thanks for the reply. I’ve already tried cleared the storage. In fact, I even completely reformatted my Xbox back to factory settings and did a complete refresh, and the issue still persists.

Just upgraded from old Xbox one to a series x and battlefield 2042 looks up and shuts my console off. I thought ths had been fixed. Am I just super lucky or is this an ongoing issue? Not simply crash to home screen, but freezes up completely. No controllers in puts and then out go the lights. Not having this issue with any other games.

Game has been crashing on PlayStation 5 after this update more frequently then I've ever seen this game. I think it has something to do with server's. Because the game would crash for my entire friends at the same time when playing in a squad together. On PlayStation 5 it didn't crash the entire system. It would just crash to a reporting screen where you can report the crash back to DICE/PlayStation so they can see the crash report as well as a video of the issue.
