Summarize your bug The settings are randomly resetting when I'm launching the game and the first tutorial launches, after that I have to set everything back on.
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? ?
What happens when the bug occurs? All my settings are erased and put back to default
What should be happening instead? Keep my settings everytime and consistently !

I'd like to mention that I am NOT using Windows integrated antivirus and I use Norton, as some people are telling the "Ransomware blocker" from Windows may be the culprit.

This is INFURIATING.

  • I am getting hit with exactly the same things. I've occasionally had a thing where it resets the resolution to some super low res, but this time all settings were gone and I had to setup everything again... Didn't know it was a requirement to keep a backup of the game settings for this game, but it doesn't come as a surprise...

  • Same here but devs are on holidays so enjoy restoring your settings until next patch might fix it in 2022!

  • I always have a backup of my Settings folder under documents, since a hard crash could destroy your profsave file. Just make a copy of your folder and whenever this happens:

-be happy that you have a copy of your settings folder

-get thru the intro/prologue until you get into the main menu(not doing this might botch your copied folder later)

    -exit the game

    -delete Settings folder

-rename your copied settings folder to the deleted one

-instantly make a copy of this folder again in case anything goes wrong

Served me well and saved a load of time when trying to find out a stable gaming overclock on BFV

@darealHomerMix yeah same workaround here. just backuped the profile files and restore them after I alt + f4 out of the intro, next launch all settings are back. very annoying to set them manually this often!

@v0lcano8 I have back up of my, Documents\Battlefield 2042 folders, as well a full video record of my Battlefield 2042 settings. This started to happen more often after 0.3.1 update.
