For two days in a row now I have faced the same issue. I am level 58 now, and I've been playing since early access. The game basically resets ALL of my settings, and forced me to go through the initial settings process all over again. If that's not enough, I need to go through the whole conquest/all out warfare tutorial all over again. Is there an answer to this?
Hi @Vacuity22,
There are a couple things that could be causing this to happen.
First, I'd recommend checking your security software to make sure there's an exception for BF2042. Sometimes security programs can block the game from writing to the files it uses to save your in-game settings.
I'd also recommend checking to see if you have OneDrive (or another cloud backup program) installed. If so, it could be causing the settings to erase because the PROFSAVE_profile file is being overwritten by OneDrive.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? one dirve is a core windows program what you said is like yeah buy and put this attachment on your vehicle but if you have a bumper installed it might catch fire.

so it's more like the rims you buy with your car, you do not need them essentially and you can just put them off- 4 years ago

completely WRONG, why put blame on something to try to throw the blame away from the people who are actually responsible? dice IS to blame for this 100%, i tried EVERYTHING and none of it worked, even tried setting both exe files the 'launcher' which is in reality eac and the bf2042 exe as well to run as administrator and when i did that it wouldn't even launch the game. the eac would just open up origin. when i mean i tried everything, i mean EVERYTHING. all the 'fixes' didn't work. this bug was created by dice probably has something to do with the cache folder, mine got to over 1 gb. and this resetting started happening for people after the 2nd 'update/patch'. the fix is back up your settings folder to replace the files after you delete all of the 2042 settings folder from C drive, run the game like it's the first time running it, close copy and paste the backed up settings only folder and your game will be back to normal. worked for me and i closed and opened the game over 3 times to make sure my settings weren't getting reset. i feel that cause i played the game on the 12th it created some bugs for me cause of that OR it was the updates. this even fixed my specialists skins settings as well.

This happens to me on the PlayStation 5 all the time. This is definitely a dice problem.
