4 years agoHey @l_Grand_Vizir_l,
I fully understand the frustration that these issues can cause. And I appreciate your reply.
It is indeed the case that in a lot of situations having a cloud backup software installed, like OneDrive, can cause these kinds of issues. We have seen this in the pas as well quite a lot of times, therefore it is one of the first things we mention. 🙂
Thank you.

Didn't last long.
The game just reset everything and is playing the tutorial again "No update or anything just did it". This is a brand-new computer and not the one I originally had the problem on. I'm thinking it's time I retire BF2042, because I can find no fix this random error.
Also present:
Random DirectX crashes.
Persistent data errors "wont launch"
Invisible players.
This game is a mess.

Hey @sk1lld,
It's indeed very unfortunate to hear that your settings keep resetting itself. However, I highly suspect it's something on the PC itself that keeps doing this/doesn't give the game permanent permission to access/write in the Documents folder to save the settings.
One other block I can think about is the following: if you're using Windows Security (Windows Defender), go to Protections History after trying to open the game. In some cases, you can see if Windows was blocking access to a "Protected Folder" every time you tried to open the game.- sk1lld4 years agoLegend

The game seems to think the game has crashed when you close the game and resets.
