Slow Boot & Game Load Time

Hello, I'm currently having an issue with my game as to where it will take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to simply boot into the game. From there, the menu is slow, and the game takes about another 15 minutes to load into a match, keeping me stuck on the loading screen. By the time I'm in the game, the match is almost over and the game drops frames for the first minute or so as it attempts to render everything. I know 2042 doesn't have the best performance but I've never had this issue until I upgraded my computer to Windows 11. I play many other games and none of them I experience this same issue.

The game for some reason appears to be using VRAM instead of actual RAM is my theory. As the times that the game does boot like normal is when I go through an extensive process to clear my available VRAM. I could be completely wrong on this but it's my best understanding of the problem. I have already tried the following:

  • Reinstall
  • Verify integrity of files
  • Updated all system drivers
  • Ran sfc /scannow
  • Scanned SSD for errors
  • Cleared cache
  • Deleted the documents folder for 2042

I have looked everywhere and tried every solution I could find. Now I also assume the issue has to do with upgrading the Windows 11, but since this issue does not occur with any other game, I wish to try to fix this single instance as I don't want to downgrade. I have a pretty solid computer so the boot time and game performance should not be low to being with:

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
  • RAM 32.0 GB
  • MSI Geforce RTX 2080
  • Game runs off a secondary drive SSD, have also tried installing game to primary drive and did not work

If anyone can offer any solutions to this issue it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I was having the same issue of getting stuck on load screen two weeks ago. What worked for me was closing EA..then re-launch as admin. Did that a couple times and was back to normal.

We have very similar pc specs 9900k-2080-32. I tried upgrade w10 >11 failed. Got a 980 pro 1t did fresh install w11 and game is smooth asf..same 100% cpu usage but it's finally smooth.
