Stuttering/100% cpu usage

Game runs at 120-160fps but is stuttering randomly and is essentially unplayable for me. My processor is maxed out completely each time I try to play. It only happens on bf2042 any other game such as BFV has no issue.
I do have a bottlenecked system but this doesn't appear to be the actual issue. Even playing at 4k my cpu is still 100% and game is stuttering.

I have tried:
Disabling overclock
Disabling overlays
Capping fps
Reinstalling the game + cache etc
Updating drivers
browsing a 88page forum on here with the exact same issue (I am losing my mind)

system:
i7 9700k
Z390-F
32gb 3600mhz
4070ti
gen3 nvme m.2

  • We've been reporting this for years, and EA has never solved it, sad.

  • I have the same exact problem. this is my PC

    WINDOWS 11 PRO 24H2
    Amd driver: 24.12.1
    Cpu: R5 5600x
GPU: readeon RX 6600 XT 8GB
    RAM: 16gb DDR4
    SSD: 256GB

  • Friends have informed me that EA will not fix the performance issues of the game. It doesn’t matter if you have a 4090 or an i9—crashes will still occur regardless of your hardware. The team has not listened to their community and seems unwilling to invest in fixing the game. Instead, they are now working on another Battlefield title, which will likely be sold for $100 or more.

  • According to IGN, Battlefield 2042 and Ark Ascended are the worst optimized games ever made, Battlefield 2042 comes to be heavier than the new Call of Duty
