it's not that. its because they didnt optimize it. they have the game set to run off everyones CPU instead of your GPU. next time you play, bring up task manager and check it for your self. your GPU usage will be like 10%, mean while your CPU is at 100% struggling. so it doesnt matter if you have a 1080 or a 3090. because its not using that part of your PC.

@Kapill89 If that happens then it's windows running the game off of the iGPU in your CPU for some weird reason. Make sure to set to use your discrete graphics card.@Voltaguz
Did you confirm your NVIDIA card is being used when the game is launched? It can be set under the NVIDIA Control Panel or when you use GeForce Experience.- RaGe0uS4 years agoRising Traveler
@EA_Blueberry Why can they get an official reply to this thread, but not our massive CPU issues thread?

I'm on an Intel Core i9-7980XE 18C/36TH with RTX 3090 OC and 2x 4TB NVME SSD, the game will only use 8C from all i have, my rig is tuned to run all games maxed out with rtx on at 3840x1600, but, BF2042 is no exception like BF1 and BF5 were, they all suffered from the same issue. You can see now on YouTube all people making profit of "Fix BF2042 stutter, lag, increase fps", even good TechTubers, but nothing works if you are above 1080p, 90%+ of dev teams optimize for this resolution as it's a console resolution...

@EA_Blueberry No, I have not checked yet; I'll do it now and update you to see if it has any effect on the performance.
