Vertical sync does not work properly
Sometimes during games and menu, vertical sync does not work and shows higher FPS numbers than the monitor

Yeah that can happen in game menus, you could try hard locking the FPS by enabling V-sync (fast) in Nvidia control panel under the 3D program settings for BF2042.
But other than that high FPS wont do much unless its an issue in game or you notice bad screen tearing in the menus.
